A night at the AC Hotel in Birmingham

Although I live relatively close to Birmingham and am there all the time, if I go for a night out then I can’t get home. Unless I leave before the last train which is at 23:15, I need somewhere to stay. Which is pretty annoying, especially as I used to be just a 10 minute Uber ride away from the city centre! Luckily, Birmingham has a great selection of hotels including AC Hotel. There’s so many hotels in and around the city centre so there’s plenty of choice when I need to pick one to stay in.

Back in December, Rachel came down to Birmingham to see me. We went to the Clothes Show Live and then wanted to spend the evening wandering around the Frankfurt Christmas Market. This meant that the best option was to stay in a hotel. We were lucky enough to get a room at one of Birmingham’s newest hotels based at the Mailbox, AC Hotel which is a part of the Marriott group.

Conveniently located next to the canal and in the heart of the Mailbox, AC Hotel is a fantastic option. If you are looking for a place to stay in the city after a night of cocktails, look here! The hotel is also just a five minute walk from New Street station and ten minutes from the Bullring shopping centre. There’s plenty to do in the Mailbox area if you don’t want to wander far. There’s a great selection of bars and restaurants to choose from.

The room

Our room had an amazing queen sized bed which was amazingly comfortable, I had such a good night’s sleep and really didn’t want to get up the following morning. The rooms all come equipped with a Nespresso machine which was brilliant when I was so exhausted after walking around the Clothes Show all day and needed a caffeine fix before going down to the market. If you’re after something a bit fancier, there’s a Starbucks located on the ground floor of the hotel right next to the main desk which is really handy.

The room also had a huge flat screen tv, which we used to listen to some music whilst we were getting ready to go out for dinner and then later we watched the I’m a Celeb final tucked up in bed with a peppermint tea. The hotel’s free wifi was great and didn’t ever disconnect which I’ve found to be a problem in other hotels.

AC Hotel Birmingham was the perfect location for us to explore the German Market and I would definitely recommend you stay there if you’re after a night in the city.

Never been to Birmingham and would have loved to attend the Frankfurt Christmas market. Love Christmas markets, but didn’t get to go to any this year x

Sometimes it really is just more convenient to stay the night in a hotel, especially if you are planning a late night out that includes cocktails. The AC Hotel Birmingham looks quite delightful, glad you had a good experience x

You definitely made the best decision to stay as you could spend hours wandering around the Christmas market. Looks like a lovely hotel, better than the basic Travelodge’s I usually go for x
