If you know me, you’ll know that I love to travel. I love nothing more than stepping on a plane and exploring a new country. However, there’s one place that I just keep returning to and that’s Paris. The French capital is one of my absolute favourite cities in the world. I love everything about it, from the architecture to the food to the atmosphere but most importantly, I love the fashion.

Be More French
I often find myself inspired by the Parisian style, which always looks so effortlessly chic. If you think about fashion in Paris what do you think of? Breton stripes? Berets? Winged eyeliner? A bold red lip? Well the outfit that I have put together for this post combines all four of those!
While the weather has been dull and dreary here in England, I’ve decided to get the long sleeves back out. This breton stripe dress is one that has been in my wardrobe for a few years now and is from the French brand Petit Bateau. I always love wearing it as it’s just so easy to throw on, but also looks like I’ve put in a lot more effort than I actually have. Combined with a classic black beret (perfect for keeping the rain off my freshly dyed hair), winged eyeliner and my favourite red lipstick, I think I’ve nailed the Parisian style.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal
To complete my new French style, I used my new favourite Jean Paul Gaultier perfume, Scandal. You may have noticed that Jean Paul Gaultier has stepped away from the trademark corset-clad bottles and has gone for a more classic bottle shape adorned with a silver pair of female legs, complete with high heels. I love this bottle design, it’s so different to the other bottles in my collection and looks great on my dressing table.

Scandal is the perfect fragrance for both day and night. If you are a fan of sweeter, floral perfumes that are also warm and woody, then this is definitely the one for you.
Top Notes: Blood Orange, Mandarin
Middle Notes: Honey, Gardenia
Base Notes: Patchouli, Beeswax, Licorice
I usually prefer a sweeter scent during the summer months, so this one is just perfect. I could imagine myself walking down the streets of Paris wearing this. I have found that the fragrance lasts all day; I usually spritz it on before work and I can still smell it 9 hours later.

I like to spray this perfume in a few different places to ensure it lasts all day. First of all I’ll spray it on each side of my neck, then I’ll spray each of my wrists and leave it to dry. If you rub your wrists together after spraying, you can lose some of the scent. Finally, I like to spritz a bit of the perfume in my hair. I find that this is the best place to apply your perfume as it keeps the scent with you all day. Every so often throughout the day, I’ll smell the perfume when I move my head.

Monochrome is so Parisienne: black and white with a splash of a bold primary colour just screams French style. High waisted black skirt with a white blouse and a bright coloured scarf or lip colour! x
I’d grab my beret, a baguette & an onion necklace, before cycling round Jardin du Luxembourg on a vintage bike!
A bright red lipstick (I’m thinking Mac’s Ruby Woo)! Ideally paired with a toned down make up look.
A trench coat and a scarf tied around my neck
I do love a beret and the red lipstick! x
Merci what a fun article! I’d add something Chanel or a silk scarf and learn how to put it on with finesse sans mirror
Can’t beat a bold red lip and subtle makep-up look with chic and sleek hair
I would put on a blazer and a beret.
I love the bottle! It’s just such a classic brand isn’t it! xx
I’d wear a beret and a striped top. #BeMoreFrench
