It’s now September and although it’s feeling quite warm at the moment, the weather is soon going to turn. When it starts getting colder and the leaves change colour, I start getting excited. Autumn means many exciting things are coming – first of all, my birthday, then pumpkin spice everything, then Halloween and then Bonfire Night. It’s definitely my favourite time of year!
Skincare
When the weather starts getting colder, I find that my skin will start getting drier. Weirdly, my skin has been getting oily recently which is new for me. So, I’m hoping that this year it won’t get as dry and I won’t need such a heavy duty moisturiser as I’ve used in years before. This year, I’ve picked one of my favourite moisturisers from Weleda.

Weleda are a brand that I’ve loved for years, since I first discovered them on a trip to Paris. You may have heard of Weleda’s Skin Food which is a moisturiser that has been going viral on TikTok recently. This is a moisturiser for very dry skin and is one that I have used in the past. This time, I decided to go with Weleda Skin Food Light. This is a lighter version but is for dry skin, which I usually have in the colder months. It sinks in really quickly, has a great fresh, herbal scent and leaves my skin feeling very hydrated.
I use this every morning, either on its own or under makeup. If I am going to be applying makeup then I tend to leave it to sink in for around twenty minutes and then I apply a hydrating primer too.
Haircare
When it’s colder, I love nothing more than getting out the layers. I’ll get my favourite puffer coat out, find all my beanies and you won’t catch me going anywhere without one of my scarves on. I love the feeling of wearing a scarf, they’re the ultimate accessory and make you feel so cosy and warm. One problem I have though is with my hair. Scarves always leave my hair really matted at the back and as I’m not willing to give up on the cosy accessories, I have to tackle the problem using hair accessories.

One item I’ve been carrying around everywhere with me is a brush from Tangle Teezer. You might know Tangle Teezer for their small, handheld brushes which are great for using on the go. However, as I usually have quite a big bag on me, I’ve been using the Tangle Teezer Ultimate Styler. This brush has similar bristles to the smaller Tangle Teezer brushes, but as it’s larger, I find it a lot easier to use on large matts. I often have to spend around ten minutes brushing my hair out after wearing a scarf, but this brush halves that. If you want a brush that leaves your hair feeling smooth and shiny, then this is definitely the one for you. It’s something that I can’t be without this autumn!
