Adding sheet masks to my skincare routine

I’ve recently started taking the pill again after being off it for about six months. As a result, my skin is a mess right now. I’ve been getting my usual end-of-period blemishes but then I’ve also been getting spots throughout the rest of the month. I’m not sure if I just need to give it a few months to settle down but in the meantime, I’m trying to sort out my skincare routine to combat it. Sheet masks are so popular at the moment, so I’ve been trying out a few different ones.

Cleansing

I’ve barely been wearing makeup over the last couple of months. It’s a combination of the heat and just not being bothered. You’d think that this would do wonders for my skin, but unfortunately not! When I do wear makeup, I take it off with a hot cloth cleanser. On the days when I’m going makeup free, I’ll just wash my face with some water in the morning and my L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Scrub in the evening. A couple of times a week, I’ll exfoliate with my L’Oreal Paris scrub.

Moisturising

I have a few different moisturisers that I switch between, depending on how my skin is feeling. I need to make sure I apply my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] before any moisturiser. It’s best to apply this morning and evening; it helps to keep blemishes at bay and also helps to fade any scars. When I have an active blemish, I use the La Roche-Posay Effaclar A.I. I apply this onto the blemishes before I go to sleep and I find that they are visibly reduced by the morning.

Sheet masks Notino

Sheet masks

I’ve recently been trying out a lot of sheet masks. There’s a great selection online at Notino and I recently picked up three new ones. A moisturising face mask can feel so luxurious and I try to do one once a week at least. I find that my skin gets worse if I don’t moisturise enough, so these masks are a great help. My favourite one so far has been the Mizon Joyful Time sheet mask which contains soothing aloe. I found that this really helped to hydrate my skin and it felt so smooth afterwards. I’ll definitely be stocking up on these.

I’m also making a conscious effort to drink more water. I have a 600ml bottle that I refill throughout the day.All that’s missing from my routine now is a good toner, I’m going to be trying to find one that’s good for blemishes and dry skin. Do you use one that you could recommend?

I love sheet masks! Just need to do them at night so I don’t scare the children 🙂 I haven’t been able to wear makeup all summer either. It just slides off!

I am trying to use more sheet masks too as I find them an easy way to add some moisture into my skin x
