While the weather is getting colder and it’s starting to snow, I’ve been thinking about spring. The first day of spring is officially March 21st, but I can’t be the only one hoping it’s going to come sooner? I’m sick of rainy days and now the mornings and evenings are getting lighter, I really feel like spring is on the way. So, I’ve been wearing some spring makeup.
Switching to spring makeup
I always find myself switching my makeup around with the seasons. Winter means berry toned blusher and darker lips. Spring means everything gets a bit lighter. I’ve recently started to switch to what I call ‘spring makeup’ with some brighter colours from Notino.

Face
I have so many different foundations, but my skin is really good at the moment so I only need a light base. I am loving the NYX Born To Glow foundation. It gives me the perfect glowy base without covering up my natural freckles. It’s quite a watery consistency, so I find that I only need a small amount and it does my whole face. I apply it with a brush rather than a sponge, to avoid it being absorbed. I then use my usual Revolution Conceal & Define concealer under my eyes. Although my skin is quite good, I still have dark circles which need covering!
I have been using a rose gold coloured blusher, just to add a bit of a flush to myc heeks. I don’t use a bronzer anymore, I tend to only use one in the summer. For my highlight, I’ve been going for theBalm’s Mary Lou-Manizer which is an old favourite.

Eyes
As soon as I saw this Makeup Revolution palette, I knew I had to have it. There are 18 beautiful colours ranging from yellow to copper to sky blue. I have been using this palette for so many different looks. For a subtle eye look, I just take the colour ‘Magnificent’ and put it all over the lid. If I want something a bit bolder, then I use ‘Sunflower’ ‘Fairyland’ and ‘Unwind’.
I am still a big fan of the NYX eyeliner for the days that I draw on wings. I have been opting for a ‘softer’ look though and have been skipping the eyeliner. I think that spring makeup is usually a lot more subtle.
When it comes to brows, I’m still using the same powder I’ve had for a while, however I have been using a new brow gel. I love Benefit’s Gimme Brow but have found a much cheaper alternative in the Revolution Pro Brow Volume and Sculpt Gel. It helps to define my brows, keep them in place all day and adds a bit of colour.
Lips
Finally, on my lips I have been keeping it quite simple. I’ll either just wear a lip balm because this cold weather is doing my lips no favours. Or, I will wear a moisturising lipstick. I love the NYX Lip Butters and this pink shade is perfect for spring makeup.
I found that these products were also perfect for creating a Valentines makeup look too. Have you switched your makeup up for the coming season?
