Halloween Essentials

Halloween Essentials from Notino

Halloween is next week and I’m really getting in the spirit of things. I’ve already done a couple of Halloween makeup looks and I’ve drank more pumpkin spice lattes than I can count. Notino are my go-to place for candles and cosmetics, so here’s my Halloween essentials from there for this year.

My 2019 Halloween essentials

Halloween Essentials from Notino Yankee Candle

Halloween scents

Autumn is the perfect time of year to get your candles out. Notino is full of autumn scents, but there’s just one that is my go-to Halloween essential. Yankee Candle’s Witches Brew has been a firm favourite of mine for years. It’s the perfect mix of spicy and sweet with base notes of spooky patchouli and vanilla. I love burning this during the dark autumn nights, it really helps to get me in the mood for Halloween.

Another favourite is Bath and Body Works’ Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte. I love all of the Bath and Body Works fragrances, but anything with pumpkin in is top of the list for me. These candles last for ages, I’ve always got one on the go and have managed to get quite a collection of them.

Halloween makeup

When you get older and are no longer going trick or treating, that doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Makeup is definitely one of my Halloween essentials if I want to look suitably spooky. I’ve got a few different products that I’m planning on using for some Halloween looks.

First of all we have the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. This provides the perfect base for any eyeshadow, especially if you want the colour to really pop. I like to apply it to the whole eyelid and then I set it with some translucent powder before my eyeshadow.

Another favourite from NYX is the Off Tropic eyeshadow palette. With ten different bright shades including one shimmer, you’ve plenty of options to create a spooky makeup look. I love the yellow, orange and red shades in particular. They’ll make a great pumpkin look, so this is definitely one of my Halloween essentials. The green is also a great shade for witchy vibes.

I like the NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner to do a cat-eye liner look. I also think this is a really handy product to have in case you need to draw on a bit of a cobweb.

For my face, I’ve been priming with the Dermacol Pearl Energy makeup base. This helps to smooth out my skin and gives it a lovely glow before I put my foundation on. I have also found that using this before my makeup means that it lasts a lot longer. I haven’t had any problems with my makeup fading away during the day.

When it comes to lips, I consider a darker colour to be one of my Halloween essentials. I have been loving the NYX Lip Lingerie Push Up long lasting lipstick in the shade Teddy. It’s the perfect dark brown for this time of year.

What are your Halloween essentials? Have you got much planned for spooky season?

The witches brew candle sounds lovely. I didn’t even know they did a Halloween one. I’d love to get one for myself and burn it over Halloween whilst watching movies with the kids.

I love lighting Halloween scents at this time of year! I don’t really have any other Halloween essentials, to be honest.

I am such a big fan of NYX make-up, especially the lip liners. I began using them last year and I can’t imagining switching to another brand now.

My ultimate Halloween essential is chocolate if I’m honest. But a close second is those scents that are autumnal.

That’s a cool looking candle right there. Yankee Candle’s Witches Brew sounds like a witch is about to cast a spell with the candle burning by her side. Great Halloween treat!

I don’t use either of those candle brands but do adore autumn/winter scents – cinnamon, spices, apples, etc. 🙂 smells soo good! And it’s so warming and homey, and perfect for getting cozy x
