Makeup I’ve been loving in March

Since last year, I haven’t been wearing a lot of makeup. I used to go all out and do a fancy eyeshadow look and I would never leave the house without at least foundation on. These days, I’m a lot more relaxed with my makeup. I probably only wear it a couple of times a week. I am happy to go out and sit in a coffee shop with no makeup on. This doesn’t mean that I have gone off makeup though, I have just somehow gained more self confidence. In March, I have been wearing only a few products whenever I wear makeup. As I travel about a lot, this means that it is a lot easier to pack them in my bag.

This is not all of the products that I wear, just the ones that are my essentials. I swap and change my bronzer/blusher/highlighter, although I have been trying to use my NARS palette a lot more often.

Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation

When this foundation was first released, everyone was talking about it. I heard some mixed reviews but I love the concealer, so I wanted to try it for myself. Luckily, the Conceal & Define Foundation suits my skin perfectly. I have normal to dry skin and I have found that it is a great match. It doesn’t accentuate any dry patches that I may have and it lasts throughout the day. I always set my foundation with some sort of powder, but even then some of them start to separate on my skin. This one however, lasts hours and at the end of the day still looks as good as it did when I first applied it. I went for the shade F2 which is the same shade I have bought in other Revolution foundations. It is the perfect shade for my skin when I am not wearing any fake tan.

Maybelline Tattoo Brow Pomade

I have tried a lot of brow pomades over the past few years. I’ve even tried the high end ones that everyone raves about. Just recently, I picked up the Maybelline Tattoo Brow pomade and I love it. It is so easy to use, it hasn’t dried up really quickly like others have and it lasts all day. I apply this with an angled brush and it takes me about thirty seconds to do each brow. Maybelline have been coming out with some great eyebrow products recently and I love every one of them.

Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold

This is a bit of a throwback item. Remember a few years ago when everyone was obsessed with the Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadows? I had most of the shades back then but they have since dried up and I had to throw them away. For some reason, I really fancied getting the shade Pink Gold back again. Since I received this, I have worn it every time I do my makeup. I never use eyeliner anymore, I find that this looks great with just a bit of mascara. I apply it with my fingers and it is so quick and easy. If I want to jazz it up a bit, I will put a bit of a pink toned highlighter over the top too.

L’Oreal Baby Roll mascara

Sticking with my eyes, the mascara that I have been using for quite a while now is L’Oreal Baby Roll. I don’t have the best lashes – they are pretty short and straight. I have to curl them to make them even look visible. I have tried so many mascaras, including high end ones and this is one of my favourites. I have to let it dry down a bit before I can use it, but it is great. It really holds a curl and when I am wearing it, I actually look like I have eyelashes

Revolution Pro Illuminating Fixing Spray

Once I have finished my makeup, I always have to use a fixing spray to set it. I find that these make your makeup look less powdery/cakey and make a big difference to the longevity. I have always been a fan of the Revolution sprays but the Illuminating Fixing Spray has to be my favourite. It leaves my skin with a dewy glow, even if I’ve used a matte foundation. This is a bargain as well, costing only £5 from Notino.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Finally, the one item that I cannot do my makeup without is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge. I have been using these for a few years now and must have been through 20+. They apply your foundation and concealer evenly, they don’t soak up the product and they’re pretty cheap too. I now have a case to keep mine in, which means that it is easier to travel with it while it is wet. I have tried other sponges throughout the years but no others have come close to these.

I received these products to review from Notino. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve never used a fixing spray before, I’ll have to try this out to see if helps keep everything in place on days I’m busy with meetings etc.

I had no idea Maybelline still made the 24 hour colour tattoo eyeshadows. I used to love them when I was younger!

I’m desperate for a new foundation, I have just realised mine makes me really orange. The Donald Trump look isn’t what I am after.
