Current beauty favourites

Now the weather is getting a bit cooler, I’ve found that I can switch up my daily makeup a bit without having to worry about it all melting off my face. I’m also choosing to go for darker, more ‘autumnal’ colours both on my eyes and my lips. I’ve recently bought quite a lot of new makeup which I’ve been testing out over the last couple of weeks and I’ve also rediscovered some of my older bits and I now have a whole new favourite daily makeup routine.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I recently received Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation* which gives a medium to high coverage which is perfect for this time of year. I do sometimes mix in a little foundation lightener if I feel like I don’t want it to be as heavy, but most of the time I use it as it is and then set with a bit of translucent powder.

I’ve constantly got dark circles under my eyes –  I’m usually up until gone 2am watching Netflix or messing around on the internet, so I don’t get as much sleep as I should have and as a result, I always need something to cover them up. I’d always wanted to try the Maybelline Age Rewind concealers but the light shade was way too dark for me fair skin tone, so when they brought out the Brightener I just had to try it. I apply this onto my dark circles under over the top of my foundation and blend it out with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and it really helps to brighten the whole area up.

I then apply the Dior Diorskin Star illuminating concealer* in the shade 001 Ivory over the dark circles and it completely covers them up while also helping to brighten the area. I was worried that this wasn’t going to be light enough for me, but it’s the perfect colour for my skintone and the coverage is great. It lasts all day when set with powder, so I don’t have to worry about it creasing or rubbing off during the day. Sometimes I find that some concealers can dry out my delicate undereyes, but I don’t have that problem at all with this Dior one. It feels quite hydrating and it also doesn’t settle into any fine lines that I may have.

I’ve recently discovered Benefit’s Hoola bronzer* which is something that I’ve been meaning to try for ages. I got mine from Notino and I was so excited to test it out as it’s a cult favourite. I was worried that it would be too dark for me, but if I apply it with a light hand then it’s perfect and really helps to warm up my face and gives me a bit of colour and definition. It’s too warm to contour with but it really works as a bronzer. To go alongside this, I’ve been using one of the Lottie London Blush Crush blushers in the shade Zayn. This is a perfect dusky rose colour and is ideal for the autumn – it’s not too bright, but it gives a great flush of colour and is so easy to blend.

I’m on the look out for a new mascara at the moment, I want something that can hold a curl and adds volume. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

I really like the shade of the Dior concelear. I do have a few items from Dior and I know they are very high quality. I would be interested in buying a concelear from them as well.
