Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear

I’m a big fan of full coverage foundations and I’ve tried quite a few from both the drugstore and from high end brands. The one I keep going back to is Estee Lauder’s Double Wear but as I’m coming to the end of my current bottle and I’ve repurchased it quite a few times already, I decided to try something different.

Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot about Lancôme’s foundation Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24h and it’s been compared Double Wear, so when I saw that it was available on Notino, I just had to get it. I didn’t get a chance to swatch it in store, so I made a bit of a guess with the shade and went with the lightest that’s available which is 005 Beige Ivoire.

Luckily, I picked well with the shade and 005 Beige Ivoire and it matches my skin tone perfectly. The foundation is marketed as full coverage and is meant to last for 24 hours on the skin. I never wear my makeup for that long, so I haven’t been able to test the longevity completely but I do usually wear my foundation for a good 8 to 10 hours on average. When it comes to coverage, I’d say that this was more of a medium coverage but it is completely buildable. I’ve been applying it with a damp beauty sponge and it’s so easy to apply and blend and doesn’t look at all cakey, even when I’ve applied the rest of my makeup on top of it.

I found that two pumps of the foundation was enough to cover my whole face and give off the right amount of coverage. I am suffering from a few blemishes at the moment on my chin, but this managed to cover them up almost completely when I applied with my beauty sponge and I only needed to apply the smallest bit of concealer over the top.

The finish of this foundation isn’t completely matte and I found that I had to set it with a powder as it did feel a bit sticky on my skin otherwise, however it does look really nice and once I’d set it, it lasted all day until I removed my makeup. I’d heard that it oxidises once applied, but that’s not happened to me at all which is great as the colour does really match my skin tone.

I’m looking forward to wearing this foundation in the cooler months which is when I typically choose to wear a higher coverage. There’s an added bonus of SPF 15 which means that I don’t have to worry about applying an SPF before my foundation if my moisturiser doesn’t contain one. The foundation didn’t feel at all heavy on my like I’ve noticed some others do and I wasn’t itching to remove it by the end of the day, it was very comfortable to wear.
