When the weather is warmer, I don’t like to wear as much makeup. There’s nothing worse than feeling like your face is caked in foundation and powder, especially when it’s hot. So, seeing as it should be getting nice and sunny soon, I thought that I would get myself a new foundation. After browsing Notino, the one I decided to go for is the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation
I’ve tried a few things from Bobbi Brown before, mostly lip products. I have been very pleased with what I have tried, so I decided that it was about time I tried a foundation. After looking through, I chose the Skin Foundation in the shade 0 Porcelain. This foundation is water based, oil free and contains SPF 15. It offers a light but buildable coverage.

My current skin
At the moment, my skin is quite good. I get a couple of spots around my period, but in general it is clear. I still have some scars from previous breakouts which I feel like I need to cover up, which is why I like to wear foundation. My skin is normal to dry and as long as I keep up with my skincare routine, it’s more normal.

Coverage and application
As the description on the website states, this foundation is light coverage but very buildable. I usually only use a pump and I blend it in with my Real Techniques sponge. With this one pump, I find that it really evens out my skin tone and helps to slightly cover imperfections. My natural freckles can still be seen through it. If I feel like I need a bit more coverage, then I’ll add an extra pump or two and it still blends really evenly. No matter how much I use, there is still a really natural finish and it doesn’t feel cakey at all. The foundation has a slightly dewy finish which I like. I don’t feel like I need to add a thick layer of powder to matt it down, although I do use powder on top just to set it.
How the foundation wears
I work 9 – 6, so on a work day I put my foundation on at around 7:15am. I don’t get home until after 6:30pm. After a full work day, I have found that my foundation still looks great. It wears off around the bridge of my nose because I wear glasses. However I am yet to find a foundation that can withstand me constantly taking my glasses on and off.
With some foundations, I start to get irritated during the day because I can feel them sat on my face. However, with the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, I don’t feel it at all. It’s so light that I sometimes forget that I am even wearing makeup at all.
Overall, I’m really happy with the foundation and I’m definitely going to be looking into other base products from Bobbi Brown.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation was gifted to me by Notino. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
