Autumn favourites from Notino

Autumn favourites from Notino

Now it is actually October, I think we can say that it is officially autumn. Autumn technically starts in September, but we had a few odd days that felt like summer again. Today, there’s actually a chill in the air and I’m looking forward to wearing my new coat and wrapping up with a nice scarf. It’s my birthday this week, so I know the weather is going to be chilly. The only hot birthday I’ve had was in Florida! I’ve been dying for autumn to start and I’ve been using some very autumnal products over the past couple of weeks.  I thought I would share my favourites from Notino with you.

Kringle Candle Leaves

Autumn favourites

When I think of autumn, I think of wrapping up warm, lighting all my candles and reading a book. I always like to get spicy/autumn scents at this time of year. I’d never heard of Kringle Candle before, but I saw this Leaves candle while I was browsing Notino. It was really cheap compared to other candle brands, so I thought I would give it a go. Although it doesn’t actually smell like leaves, it definitely smells like autumn. It’s such a spicy scent with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg and it really fills the room.

Another product that I love for the autumn/colder months is a good sheet mask. I have dry skin anyway and I have to make sure I keep my skin hydrated and moisturised. Sheet masks are a great way of adding moisture back into the skin and they’re also a bit of fun! I like to try out different ones, but I’ve found that the ones from Missha are always great. I’m looking forward to trying this honey one out.

Marvis cinnamon mint toothpaste

Foot care is also really important in the autumn. Just because you’re now hiding your feet away in big boots, it doesn’t mean that you can start to neglect them. I like to apply a nice foot cream a couple of times a week to keep mine soft and hydrated. At the moment, I’m really loving this one by Nuxe. The Nuxe Rêve de Miel Ultra Comforting Foot cream contains honey which is really moisturising. I’ve been using this for the past couple of weeks now and I really like the way it makes my feet feel. Some foot creams can be really sticky but if I apply this at night and sleep in socks, my feet are baby soft by the morning.

Finally, something a little bit different – toothpaste! I really don’t like using normal mint toothpaste. I don’t know why, but sometimes it just makes me gag. I’d tried a marshmallow one from Primark before which was really weird, it didn’t feel like it was cleaning my teeth. I’ve had my eye on these Marvis toothpastes for a while as there was a shop in Winchester which sold them, but I’d never taken the plunge and bought one.  This month though, I decided to go for it and try the cinnamon mint. I was worried it would be like the marshmallow one and wouldn’t feel like it was doing anything, however it is so good! The flavour is really nice, not too cinnamony and not too minty and it really feels like it’s cleaning. The best bit is, you don’t get that horrible minty taste in your mouth for ages afterwards.

I love the sound of the Leaves Candle, I have always wondered if anyone could actually bottle the scent of leaves, I mean I can’t even describe the smell. So I like the idea of Cinnamon and Nutmeg, which sounds warming x

Hot chocolate! I don’t drink tea or coffee so this is the first time in the year I can have it without getting weird looks at 10am

Autumn candles are my favourite. There’s no better time to bring out the candles than Autumn, they’re literally a staple of this time of year aren’t they! x

Ah, you certainly know that the darker, colder nights are drawing close when the house fills with the scent of cinnamon! Such a warming fragrance. Cinnamon mint toothpaste though … that sounds very unique!
