Easy Halloween looks

Halloween makeup looks from Pinterest

Everyone gets really excited once October 1st rolls around as it’s HALLOWEEN MONTH! This year, I’ve been invited to the Makeup Revolution Halloween party. It sounds amazing and I can’t wait! This means that I need to get myself an outfit/costume sorted. As I’ll have to travel through London, I’m not going to want to go too extreme. I was thinking of something simple I can easily do. Especially with the makeup that I already have and things that are easy to get hold of. I’ve been looking on Pinterest for some ideas and these are my favourites so far.

Easy Halloween looks

If you’ve ever been to a Halloween party before, you will know that there are certain looks that are really popular. This is usually because they are really easy to do and include:

  • Cat
  • Skull
  • Unicorn
  • Mermaid
  • Witch
  • Pumpkin

These would all be pretty easy to create with just a few normal makeup products and you probably already have them in your collection. I’m leaning towards trying out witch style makeup or  being a bit braver and trying to do leopard print. I do already have a leopard print dress that I could wear. I’m not the sort of person who gets upset if someone else is doing the same look, so I don’t mind going for something that’s popular, as long as it is easy to do. It’s no secret that I’m not parfticulary skilled with makeup, so simple is the best way to go for me! For my costume, I’ll be looking for some freebies UK.

Makeup for a Halloween look

Cheap Halloween makeup from Notino

A lot of looks are easily created with makeup that you probably already own. I’ve picked out a few pieces from Notino that you could use to create a number of different Halloween makeup looks.

Making it last

No matter what sort of look you’re doing, a good translucent powder can make so much difference. You’ll want your makeup to stay put for a long time and I’ve found that the Vichy Dermablend setting powder is perfect. It sets your makeup without making it look cakey and a little goes a long way! Similarly, a setting spray is a must have to make sure the rest of your makeup lasts all night. Glam Glow Glowsetter has got raving reviews, so it’s one that I would like to try out.

Creating the look

Makeup Revolution have always made great highlighters and this Dragon’s Heart highlighter from I Heart Makeup (their sister brand) is perfect for a Halloween look with the fiery red and orange tones. You could use it as intended, or use the individual colours as eyeshadows. This would be especially good if you are going for a pumpkin inspired look.

A good brightly coloured eyeshadow palette is useful for so many different looks. This Freedom Pro Chasing Rainbows palette has 12 different shades ranging from neon yellow to navy blue. I think that having something like this in your collection is really handy.

For many Halloween makeup looks, a liquid eyeliner is essential. You can use it to line your eyes, or you can use it to add finer details to a look. Perhaps you want to add a cobweb to the corner of your eye or you want to add some whiskers if you are doing a cat look. There’s so many different possibilities and I have found that the L’Oreal Paris Super Liner is so easy to use and lasts for hours as well.

Finally, for the finishing touches a dark, vampy lipstick and nail polish are ideal. I like the look of the Maybelline Forever Strong nail polishes. They promise to last for 7 days and have a gel-like finish. The Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque has also caught my eye. Bourjois are one of my favourite brands and their lipsticks are usually really good and long lasting.

What are you doing for Halloween? Is your makeup look planned?

I really need a new lip colour for halloween as I never go super dark. Will check out the Bourjois one as I’m going as a dead school girl and need a deep red for it. Xx

I’ve think you’ve created some strong looks with a wide range of great make up products and it shows you can do amazing looks on a budget if you didn’t want to spend a lot.
