Travel: Disneyland Paris

On our second day in Paris, we hopped on the RER with a croissant and a cafe creme and made our way to Disneyland. I’d been once before when I was ten but Chloe had never been so as you can imagine we were both really excited! I chose to wear my Primark Bambi tshirt, a pair of Minnie Mouse sunglasses that were from the kids section in Primark and a pair of Minnie Mouse ears which spent most of the time in my bag.

We were in the park for a good nine hours and managed to visit Disney Village and Walt Disney Studios which wasn’t there last time I visited. It was twenty four degrees and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, so we definitely picked the right day to go. Luckily, I’d remembered to slather myself in Factor 50 before we left the hostel!

The park wasn’t as busy as I was expecting on a Saturday in the summer – I thought it would be as busy and exhausting as Alton Towers is at any time of the year. We wandered around taking in all of the sights on Main Street USA and had a look around Adventureland and Fantasyland before stopping for an ice cream break.

We were then lucky enough to stumble upon a parade and I may have cried a little bit when I saw Winnie The Pooh – he’s been my favourite Disney character since I was a baby and I didn’t get chance to see him last time. I couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw him coming around the corner, I was worse than the children! We also saw Mary Poppins and Bert, Peter Pan, Belle, Baloo, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore, Stitch, Mickey and Minnie and Donald and Daisy.

We managed to go on a few rides, my favourite being the Hollywood Tower Hotel – I’ve never screamed that much in my life! The highlight of the day was definitely Winnie The Pooh though. My life has been made. I’d love to go back and explore the parts we missed out and eat in a couple of the themed restaurants. We ate in Buzz Lightyear’s Pizza Planet fourteen years ago and I remember that being brilliant! I’m going to have to hope that someone offers to take me for my birthday or get saving for another trip!

I went to Disney last summer, and I teared up a little during the parade too! I feel like it’s the inner child in me that got emotional, hah.

I went too, during the same week! I had completely forgotten how fun Disneyland is and may have teared up during the closing parade- so magical!
I must admit that I wore my Minnie ears all day long as I knew that’s the only time I could get away with wearing them!
