Groundhog Day

When: Tuesday 30th May – Saturday 12th August 2023

Where: Old Vic Theatre in London

Indulge in a thought-provoking comic parable of metamorphosis, love, and optimism, that you may just recognise… Groundhog Day! This prodigious, Olivier Award-winning masterpiece (accoladed for Best New Musical and Best Actor) that took its inspiration from the 1993 box office hit, has returned to grace The Old Vic’s stage this summer. The esteemed Andy Karl once again takes up the mantle of Phil Connors, a character for which he was earlier awarded the prestigious Olivier Award. The remarkable music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, alongside the book by Danny Rubin, remain unchanged, delivering a fresh, vibrant retelling of the beloved story.

The narrative follows the cynical Pittsburgh TV weatherman, Phil Connors, who is assigned to report on the bizarre annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. However, Connors soon finds himself caught in a time loop, subjecting him to hilarious yet meaningful experiences that guide him towards a path of redemption and enlightenment. The play promises to deliver as many laughs as the original Bill Murray movie and provide a unique opportunity to experience the story in a novel way. Ensure that you secure your tickets before the curtain drops on this unparalleled theatrical marvel!

Horrible Histories – The Terrible Tudors

My plan was to eat a lot of good food and visit a few museums before heading to the Royal Albert Hall to see my favourite band @garbage with @placeboworld and forget about all my stresses for a day.

However, once I found out about the @togetheralliance march against the far right, I scrapped my plans (apart from the gig, I still went to that) and headed to Park Lane to join my first ever protest.

I think it’s so important to use your voice, fight for what you believe in and do your best to make a difference.

There’s so much shit going on in the world and people need to stop burying their heads in the sand. I’m sick of hearing people saying things like “I don’t do politics” or “what’s the point of voting?” but also moaning about things like the NHS, the cost of living, tax, education, worker’s rights etc. If you want to have a say, you need to get involved, go out and vote in your local elections on May 7th.

Make more noise and make hope normal again.
