Lifestyle: The third quarter of 2016

third-quarter-of-2016

I’ve been putting off writing this post for a couple of weeks as the last few months have been tough, particularly September.

A lot of good things happened in July – I went to Germany with Essence Cosmetics, I also had a little holiday in Devon which was lovely. Towards the end of the month, my friend got married so I travelled up to Lytham St Annes for that and had a day exploring the seaside town by myself.

There wasn’t really much to report from August – my job was really manic, so I spent a lot of time there and when I wasn’t at work I travelled home to see my cat, Patch as we found out that she was ill and didn’t have much time left. That was really hard and I didn’t deal with it very well. At the end of August, my rabbit Poppy ended up being put to sleep – this was really out of the blue but she got fly strike and there was nothing that the vets could do about it.

At the beginning of September, Patch unfortunately had to be put to sleep. I was absolutely devastated and still am, she was my best friend for 19 years. A few days later, ma and Tom broke up and I had to move back to my parents house. As you can imagine, those few weeks were so tough and it completely ruined me. My mental health was at an all time low and I ended up losing half a stone over just a few days.  Luckily, I’m doing a lot better now.

Hopefully the final update of the year won’t be as depressing as this one, I don’t think things can get any worse!

My plan was to eat a lot of good food and visit a few museums before heading to the Royal Albert Hall to see my favourite band @garbage with @placeboworld and forget about all my stresses for a day.

However, once I found out about the @togetheralliance march against the far right, I scrapped my plans (apart from the gig, I still went to that) and headed to Park Lane to join my first ever protest.

I think it’s so important to use your voice, fight for what you believe in and do your best to make a difference.

There’s so much shit going on in the world and people need to stop burying their heads in the sand. I’m sick of hearing people saying things like “I don’t do politics” or “what’s the point of voting?” but also moaning about things like the NHS, the cost of living, tax, education, worker’s rights etc. If you want to have a say, you need to get involved, go out and vote in your local elections on May 7th.

Make more noise and make hope normal again.
