One of my favourite things about autumn is all of the great candle scents that are released. There’s nothing like curling up with a book in an evening and burning some autumnal candles. To me, candles are a year round thing. I always have some sort of candle or a tart burner on the go. However, in the autumn (and winter too) there’s so many amazing scents that are released. I can’t help but stock up at this time of year!

What I’m burning at the moment

At the moment, I have two candles on the go. Both are from Notino and are perfect for this time of year.

I’ve been a fan of Yankee Candle for years. I always like to buy the wax tarts and votives. Occasionally, I will treat myself to a jar candle too – usually in a seasonal scent.Yankee Candle’s Bourbon Wood Barrels smells amazing and has the following notes:

Top: Cask whiskey
Middle: Aged oak barrel, clove
Base: Vanilla extract

I love anything that has a woody type scent and I am also a big fan of vanilla, so there’s no surprise that I love this candle. The whiskey is very noticeable but it’s not too strong and luckily, doesn’t smell like a bar! I definitely want to get another one of these candles, it was a UK exclusive last year but is still available on Notino.

I’d never heard of Kringle Candles before, so when I came across their Leaves candle I was intrigued. I have tried a Leaves scented candle from Bath and Body Works which I loved, so I was hoping that this one would be just as nice. This one is a lot smaller than the Yankee Candle, I didn’t want to go for a big one just in case I wasn’t keen. I needn’t have worried though, even though this is a lot different to the B&BW one, I really like it. Leaves has the following notes:

Top: Apple cider, cinnamon
Middle: Red fruits
Base: Golden apple

As you can see, this is a very fruity candle. I wouldn’t usually choose such a fruity scent for the autumn but I think that the cinnamon brings it all together nicely. Now I’ve tried Leaves, I really want to get some more candles from Kringle Candles. They have such a great range of scents.

More autumnal candles

There’s still a lot of candles that I want to pick up for this season. As I mentioned before, I do love Bath and Body Works candles as well as Kringle and Yankee Candle. The next ones on my list are Kringle’s Apple Cider Donut, B&BW’s Leaves and Yankee Candle’s Cinnamon Stick. I haven’t smelled the Kringle one before but it sounds amazing. I love bakery scents, so I think that I will love this.
