Products I always repurchase

I’ve tried a lot of different products over the years. It’s always great to try new things, but I do have a few that I always repurchase. From skincare to makeup to home fragrance – I definitely have my favourites.

Skincare favourites

When choosing skincare, I always go for products to keep my skin hydrated and also fight acne. I switch between cleansers and toners. At the moment, I’m using a gel cleanser from Makeup Revolution to take my makeup off which I’m really enjoying. However, there are some skincare products that I always go back to. One of these is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]. This is a serum designed to help clear up any blemishes while also keeping them at bay. It also fades any previous acne scars that you may have. I have been using this for years and I always make sure that I have one in my collection. I apply this every morning and night before my moisturiser.

When it comes to moisturiser, my favourite for the day time is the Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Moisturiser. It’s not too heavy so is great to apply before makeup but it also keeps my skin really hydrated. I’ve repurchased this so many times, it will always be a favourite!

Makeup favourites

I am not very loyal to many makeup products, however there is one accessory that I keep coming back to. This is the Essence Makeup sponge. I always use this to apply my foundation and concealer. Once wet, it works amazingly well and leaves a flawless base. They’re a bargain at only £2.99 – definitely worth adding one to your kit! I’ve found that they wash quite well so I’m not always replacing them every month like other sponges I’ve tried in the past. You can also use it to ‘bake’ – a technique where you use powder to set your makeup in certain areas.

Home fragrance favourites

As you probably know, I am a massive fan of scented candles. I have a huge collection but a brand that I keep going back to is DW Home. They’re quite hard to get hold of in the UK, so I get mine from Notino. At the moment I have a few favourites including Birthday Cake and Sweet Pea and Pomegranate. They do such a great variety of scents, from spicy, autumn scents to sweeter, foody type scents. I will always pick one of these up when I can, they burn so well and have a great throw. The scent really fills the room and lasts for a long time.

I’m sure I’ve got some of the Effaclar Duo in my bedroom to use, I’m going to have to dig that out now you have reminded me and if I ever see a DW Home candle I am totally trying it out – such a shame they aren’t so easy to get over here.

TK Maxx and Homesense do them occasionally too! I always get mine from Notino though.

I’m the same as you, I always go back to the same items over and over again. I wonder if I’m missing out sometimes but I like what I like.

I love wax melts and currently have some autumn ones which smell amazing!

I need those candles in my life! Birthday Cake scented candles? How did I not know about this before? Now is the perfect time to hibernate, cwtch up on the sofa with a blanket and be surrounded by lots of lovely scented candles! 🙂 Sim x

I love reading about things people always repurchase because you know they are good! I haven’t heard of those candles before, they sound great.

I always see people raving about Effaclar Duo & keep meaning to try it myself but still haven’t. Your post has reminded me to get some!

DW Home do great candles! They’re so affordable and the scent pay-off is great! I’m like you and go back to the same products over and over, especially with skincare – Effclar Duo has seen me through many phases of dodgy skin!

I haven’t used a foundation sponge for a while as I use a thicker foundation now which goes on better with a brush, but I swear by using a sponge for any runnier consistency foundations!

I am a creature of habit and love to find something I really love and can stick to. I have the same perfume always and have the same skincare routine always too.

I haven’t tried Vichy but I’ve heard great things about their skincare products. I’m a big fan of Essence make up and essentials, so I’ll definitely pick up a sponge next time I’m in Wilko
