My May favourites

May has been a weird month – we’ve had about 2 hours of sunshine, but it’s just flown by so quickly! I’ve been trying out a few new products this month and have found some new favourites. Here is what I’ve been loving..

Skincare

As I’m in my early thirties, I really need to start looking after my skin more. I have been using an SPF daily as it is so important to protect your skin. Even if you’re not going outside or if it’s cloudy, the rays can still be harmful! I’ve been using this SPF from Nuxe which is a great consistency and doesn’t take long to sink into the skin. I was worried that using an SPF would break me out, but so far, so good!

It doesn’t matter what time of year we’re in, my skin easily gets dry and dehydrated and can be prone to breakouts. This is why I’ve been trying to use better moisturisers and more products with glycolic acid for skin in them. Glycolic acid is fantastic for preventing breakouts, sorting out hyper pigmentation and keeping lines and wrinkles at bay. It helps to shed dead skin cells in a gentle way and can make your skin look more even and toned. I’ve been loving the Revolution Skincare Glycolic Acid Glow overnight moisturiser. I have found that this really helps to keep my skin hydrated and moisturised, plus it looks really glowy in the morning. When using an AHA like glycolic acid, it’s important to always remember to wear SPF afterwards.

Makeup

I’m a massive fan of highlighter when it comes to makeup. I know that it’s not as popular as it used to be, but I can’t get enough of that dewy glow! There are so many different highlighters that I haven’t tried, so I’m always picking up new ones. This month I’ve been absolutely loving this gorgeous single highlighter from Wet n Wild. This is the first product that I have tried from Wet n Wild and I am so impressed. They’re very reasonably priced and brilliant quality – the sort that you would expect from higher end items. Wet n Wild Mega Glow in Blossom Glow only costs £4 but is the most stunning pink based shade. When applied to the tops of my cheeks, it makes me look radiant and healthy. I find that it lasts all day too. I’ll definitely be trying more products from this brand!

I might have to give that over night cream a try for myself!
