January essentials from Notino

January seems to be the longest month ever. Even when we’ve not been in lockdowns, past Januarys have always dragged. This year, we’re stuck in a lockdown and it feels worse than ever. Instead of setting myself any New Year’s Resolutions for 2021, I decided just to look after myself better. This has felt like a great idea when the January blues have hit. I’ve been spending more time making sure I am using the right products.

Skincare

I have been trying some new skincare recently. With having to wear a mask constantly at work – often for 7 hours a day, my skin has definitely been taking a beating. I have been getting the odd breakout when my skin is usually clear. I can also feel how dry my face is after wearing a mask all day.

One of my favourite skincare brands is Vichy. I have been using one of their moisturisers for the past year or so and I love it, so I decided to try something else from them. The Vichy Normaderm Phytosolution is a hydrating moisturiser for blemish prone skin.

I have been using this moisturiser every evening after taking off my makeup and toning my skin. I have found that it sinks in really quickly and has an almost gel like consistency. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed when I wake up in the morning.

Makeup

Although I haven’t been wearing as much makeup recently, I still wear the basics for work. Even though I have a mask covering half of my face, I like to make sure that my makeup stays in place all day, so I use a primer. The primer that I have been loving recently is the Essence Hello Good Stuff Hemp Seed Oil Primer. It’s been helping my makeup to stay on all day but also leaves my skin feeling really soft.

Handcare

While we are all washing our hands more, it is important to make sure that we are using a nice soap. You want to make sure that you’re not damaging your hands with excessive washing and you also want one that smells great. One of the brands that I love for hand soap is Yope. I have been using the Yope Cedarwood and Bitter Orange hand soap in our bathroom. As well as smelling great, it hasn’t been drying out my hands and leaves them feeling soft and clean.
