I’ve always had really dry skin. I thought that when I hit my teenage years I’d get that oily, acne prone skin that they seemed to talk about a lot in teen magazines. The reality was that my dry skin continued being dry and I still ended up with acne. Over the years I’ve tried many different products for both my face and body, I’m always discovering new ones that I love.
Combatting dry skin
The best thing to do when you have dry skin is to keep it hydrated. I have tried a lot of different moisturisers and have a few that I use regularly. Unfortunately, I don’t always remember to use them at night! I always apply one in the morning though, which helps. Since having to wear a mask at work I have found that my skin has been getting a lot drier. It is also breaking out a lot more, so I have been looking for a solution to combat both of these issues. Some moisturisers can be too rich which will then cause spots, so I have been sticking with my favourite Vichy moisturiser and using sheet masks when I can.

Sheet masks for dry skin
I have tried a lot of different sheet masks from Notino, they have so many from a lot of great brands. In my experience, the sheet masks from Asian beauty brands have always been the best. This month, I picked up three masks from Missha. I went for Lemon, Aloe and Red Ginseng. Each of these are moisturising but have different results. The Lemon mask is brightening, Aloe is soothing and Red Ginseng is revitalising. I tend to use a sheet mask once a week as a little pick me up.
I also have the 3 step nourishing mask which is said to:
- clean skin deeply
- hydrate deeply and nourish intensively
- brighten and freshen

Combatting dry skin on your body
No matter what time of the year it is, I always have really dry skin on my legs and arms. I am usually quite lazy and can’t be bothered to moisturise my body as a lot of body lotions take a while to sink it. It can be a horrible feeling when your clothing is sticking to you! One product that I’ve been using over the last couple of weeks is by another Asian beauty brand, Holika Holika. The Aloe Vera gel is light and not at all sticky. It sinks into my skin in a couple of minutes meaning I don’t have to spend ages dancing around my bedroom waiting for it to dry before I get dressed. It contains 99% aloe vera juice meaning it also has wonderful soothing properties. If you have sunburn or an insect bite, then this is the perfect product to use!
