I’m a big, BIG skincare fan. I love the ritual of it: starting with the cleanser (and even double cleansing if you’re feeling in need of a little extra pampering), taking the time to pat your serum into your face and neck, then pause before smoothing on moisturiser in the same concentric patterns every day. It just makes me so happy to take that time for me and my skin, so having a cupboard full of skincare that I really believe in and that I know works for me is a must. Fresh is the brand whose products occupy most of the space in my bathroom cabinet. These are my can’t-go-without products and why you should give them a try.

Soy pH-Balanced Hydrating Face Wash

This is undoubtedly one of the best skincare products I have ever tried — not just a Fresh favourite. Finding the right face wash is like finding the Holy Grail, and too good not to share.

Why I Love It

I’ve always had a lot of trouble with my skin struggling to retain moisture. No matter how gentle the ingredients were in the face cleansers I tried, I always felt like my face was stretched and dry after cleansing — which is a big no-no as far as comfort and skin health go. This soy-based face wash is on the opposite end of the scale: I feel like my skin is clean AND hydrated right after cleansing and without any other products applied. 

The most important thing to do, especially if you have naturally dry skin, is to support the functioning of your moisture barrier to keep moisture locked in — which is what the amino acids in this product do.

Rose Deep Hydration Toner Jumbo

Toner is a step that many people skip — I’m sure you all have your reasons! As for me, I hold to this step of my routine religiously. An extra step that adds more hydration to my routine is one I’ll definitely take every day.

Why I Love It

Instead of stripping the good oils and moisture your skin needs to function — which toners have gotten a bad rep for doing — this toner adds more and helps it stay locked into your skin. If overly large pores are a concern for you, like they have been in the past for me, this is the product for you, too, as it minimises them without any tightness or added shine. Not only does the product actually do what it says it will do, but it also gives you a feeling of really being pampered — it’s so beautiful to look at, and it smells absolutely incredible. The little rose petals floating around inside the bottle make it a great product for a little extra shelfie appeal, too.

Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Serum

I can’t say enough good things about this little bottle of liquid sunshine. The first time I tried it, I was a little unsure if I needed to add another step to my skincare routine after my toner, but the minute it hit my skin, I knew I had found a friend for life.

Why I Love It

This serum is a cold-pressed juice for your skin. Fresh has packed 480 thousand little microbubbles of vitamin goodness into this tiny bottle, and let me tell you, they give your face a makeover the second they sink in. From the first trial run, my skin was much brighter immediately after use. When I skip this serum for a few days, my skin starts to look a little bit blah and tired — that’s how I know for sure it works. When I stick to my beauty routine, including this serum, I look, for lack of a less punny word, really Fresh! I look like I’ve just been for a professional-quality facial, and my skin feels incredibly smooth.

Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment Lip Balm 

Sometimes, we forget that our lips need a little skincare, too! Adding lip care to your beauty routine is essential for a perfectly preserved pout. You never know when you may need it! Birmingham also gets incredibly cold in the winter, which can wreak havoc on smooth, hydrated lips. Mine needed a little help year-round, and they definitely got it.

Why I Love It

You’ve heard of hyaluronic acid, right? Everyone has! It’s an incredible little ingredient that helps your skin retain the moisture you add to it with products and by drinking water daily. The HA in this lip balm has kept my lips soft and smooth for a long time now, and they look plumped without needing any extra plumping gloss or fillers. If you use this balm a few times daily, you’ll banish chapped lips for good.
