While we are wearing masks the majority of the time, I’ve found that a lot of people aren’t making much effort with makeup, myself included. I just don’t see the point of spending time on it just to then cover it up with a mask. Instead, I’ve been working on making me eyes pop and using my favourite, tried and tested products on my brows.

Eyes

Something that I have never really used before is liquid eyeshadow. I’ve always been a fan of powder eyeshadows, trying multiple colours and blending them together. However, liquid eyeshadow is so much easier to use. You can even apply it with your fingertips! I’ve been trying out one from XX by Revolution – the XXCharged liquid eyeshadow in the shade Revoke is beautiful. It’s a dual chrome eyeshadow that shifts between green and purple. I absolutely love the look it gives when I blend it over my eyelids. I find that I don’t need much more on my eyes, so I tend to just add a bit of eyeliner and mascara.

The mascara that I’ve been loving at the moment is the Maybelline Great Lash. It helps to separate my eyelashes perfectly without any clumping. It also adds a bit of volume. I do find that I need to curl my eyelashes with whatever mascara I use as I have such straight eyelashes. This mascara helps to hold the curl in place. I have found that this doesn’t smudge or transfer during the day, which is great news when your face is getting so warm from the mask.

Eyebrows

On my brows I keep it simple, with my favourite eyebrow gel. The Essence Make Me Brow gel is one of the best ones I have ever used. It has such a tiny wand which means that you don’t end up getting the gel everywhere. It holds my brows in place and adds a hint of colour. A bonus is that it’s also really affordable! I like to have a couple of spares in my drawer, just in case. I usually still have to fill in my brows afterwards if I want a bold look, so I then just add a bit of brown eyeshadow or brow powder with an eyebrow brush. I add the gel first so it’s easier to get the shape that I want, then I go in with the powder.
