Over the last year I’ve found myself trying to support smaller businesses a lot more. I’ve also been ordering a lot more things online as the shops have been shut for the majority of the time. I’d never really thought about getting baked goods delivered before as I’ve always been able to pop to a coffee shop or a bakery if I wanted a treat. This was until I saw a lot of people sharing letterbox gifts they’d been receiving on Instagram.
Letterbox gifts for all occasions

Mode & Grace
Mode & Grace are a small company based in West Yorkshire who specialise in floral topped brownies. You can order their brownies, fudge or chocolate as a one off box for letterbox gifts or you can subscribe for monthly deliveries. I decided to go for the Floral Chocolate Hazelnut Slice which is a hazelnut packed flapjack with a chocolate topping. As with all of their products, this has real edible flowers as decoration which makes it so much more luxurious.
The packaging is also perfect if you are sending them as a gift – with Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day coming up, it takes the stress out of searching for the perfect present.

Son of a Biscuit
While I’m not the biggest sweet tooth, I can never turn down an iced vanilla biscuit. I’ll always pick a biscuit over a cake! So, when I had a craving one day I searched the internet for a company that provide letterbox biscuits. There are a few that I found that will create custom orders, but as it wasn’t a special occasion, I went for a ready made box from Son of A Biscuit. Son of A Biscuit are based in Kent and offer letterbox biscuits for every occasion.
The biscuits came well packaged and there’s even the option of writing a gift note (which I wrote to myself!) to go with the gift. I chose the Prickly Cactus Set which comes with a choice of a four different messages. The one I chose is obviously an apology message, but I thought it was funny. The biscuits were delicious but I had to limit myself to just one a day.

The Adventurous Cakebook
If you know me, you’ll know that I’m not a fan of cake especially brownies. I’ve never really had a brownie that I have enjoyed. However, I saw Yasmin sharing some brownies from The Adventurous Cakebook on her Instagram; they looked so fudgy and delicious that I didn’t think twice about ordering a box. It was a bit of a risk spending over £20 on some brownies that I might not like! Luckily, when they arrived I found that they were just as amazing as they looked. I picked a box with four flavours:
- – Oreo Cheesecake
- – Americana
- – Forrero Rocher Cheesecake
- – Vegan Biscoff & Bourbon
Out of all of the flavours I tried, my favourite was the Oreo Cheesecake. They’re a decent size and I found that I had to cut each one in half, so they’re definitely worth the money. As I couldn’t eat them all quick enough, I froze the majority of them and have been taking them out to defrost the night before I want one. Freezing doesn’t ruin the taste or texture, so I highly recommend doing the same. I’ve already ordered another box which will arrive in time for Mother’s Day.
Have you ever had any letterbox gifts? Would you consider ordering baked goods in this way?

Thank you for sharing some great gift ideas
