It’s my birthday this week (Friday October 5th, mark your calendars) and although I actually haven’t asked for anything, it’s kind of tradition that I post a birthday wishlist. Turning 29 seems a bit boring. I’m still a year off the big birthday but I don’t want to not do anything. I’ve decided to take myself away for a couple of days. I’m going to head to Newcastle because there’s two cat cafes there. As well as going to the cat cafes, I’ll probably treat myself to a cocktail somewhere too. Like I said, I haven’t asked for anything this year (well, nobody has asked what I want and I don’t like demanding) so these items are things I will probably treat myself to at some point.
29th birthday wishlist
I saw these yellow Fila trainers on someone (much younger and much cooler than me) in Birmingham and I’ve wanted them ever since. I’ve managed to track them down in Office but I’m not sure if they will suit me. I don’t think I’m ‘cool enough’ to pull off massive yellow trainers, but I do love them. I’ve also never paid £85 for a pair of trainers before, so the price has been putting me off.
A really easy present to get for me is anything from Pandora. I have a couple of bracelets and I haven’t had any new charms for a couple of years. In fact, I think the last one I bought was when I was in Florida in 2016. I really love the Disney collection, especially the Winnie The Pooh charm. The one I bought in Florida was similar, but I think that this one is different enough that I can justify having both. I also really like the rings that they do in Pandora, this Regal Beauty Ring has caught my eye. It’s nice and simple and would look great stacked with my other silver rings.
I’m a big fan of the Fjallraven Kanken backpacks and I have a couple. I use them all the time and I have been lusting after the yellow one for ages. Like I said, do really love them and I probably will buy one soon, but if I’m honest it will likely be a fake one off eBay as they’re just over a tenner instead of £80. I know it’s bad to encourage buying fakes, but I have ibis poo all over a Kanken that I paid full price for and it won’t come out, so I don’t want to risk destroying an expensive backpack again!
For a couple of weeks now, I’ve been looking for a decent pair of heeled chelsea boots. They need to be quite chunky and have a bit of a platform as I’m not very good at walking in heels. I want something that I can wear everyday, that’s going to be comfortable. I’ve found this pair from Boohoo which look like they fit the bill. I will be keeping an eye out for others though.
It’s been a long time since I’ve bought anything other than skincare from Lush. Everything has just shot up in price and I really can’t justify it anymore. A couple of days ago I was in the Birmingham store and I tried out the Cinders shower gel which sounds amazing. I used to love the Cinders bath bomb (back when it didn’t cost £5.95 for one – what has happened?) and this smells exactly the same. I think Lush shower gels are really nice, despite the hefty price tag.
Finally, I really want the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. I’ve been wanting this for ages, ever since it was first released. I’ve just never been able to swatch one which has put me off buying it. However, it has such good reviews, so I think it will be fine. I’m sure I will pick it up soon!
There’s a few other things I fancy treating myself too as well, like a new iPhone case, a haircut and a set of acrylic nails. I basically use my birthday as an excuse to treat myself all month. Anyone else like this?
So, there’s my 29th birthday wishlist aka a load of stuff that I will probably just buy myself.
