So far, 2018 has been amazing for travel. I wanted to visit two new countries and I’ve ended up visiting four within a month. I’ve been to Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. I also popped to Belgium (accidentally) and Germany after my flight debacle. Not bad, considering I didn’t think I’d get to go anywhere because I was doing my masters degree! There’s still three and a half months left of 2018 and I’m planning to go to Amsterdam and Berlin before the year is out.
So far for 2019, I have no travel plans however, I turn 30 in the October so I want to do something special to celebrate that.
I visited Disneyworld back in 2016. I was there for my 27th birthday and I had the most amazing time. I would absolutely love to go back for my 30th birthday, however it’s a bit of an extravagant holiday and not somewhere I would want to go alone. If I can find someone to go with me, I’ll definitely look into booking a trip for the beginning of October 2019. I’d probably want to spend my actual birthday at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter though, which would be so magical.
Prague, Czech Republic
One of the cities I’ve wanted to go to for absolutely ages is Prague. It looks so beautiful and after my trip to Eastern Europe in June, I just want to explore more of that part of the world. I know a couple of my friends really want to go as well, so I might organise a trip with them. This is one of the places I would happily go to on my own if I can find a decent hostel though. I do love visiting new countries on my own!
I’ve been to Paris so many times. It’s one of my favourite cities ever but I haven’t been since October 2015. My favourite places to visit are Montmartre for Sacre Coeur and the Moulin Rouge and Champs Elysees for the Arc de Triumph and the atmosphere. I think I’m going to book a little weekend trip in the spring and I’ll stay in one of my favourite hostels.
When I was in Bratislava back in June, I was so tempted to get the train over to Vienna. It looks like such a beautiful city and it’s only an hour away, however I only had one full day in Bratislava so I decided not to. I definitely want to plan a trip to Vienna and will probably include a day in Bratislava because I did really love the city. I’ve heard that Vienna is quite expensive, so I will have to make sure I save up!
As I said, I don’t have anything planned yet but I will probably end up booking something last minute on a whim. I don’t tend to plan things too far in advance! What are your travel plans for 2019?
