|I hope everyone had a good Valentine’s Day yesterday! I went into town with my boyfriend so he could buy me presents (typical male, leaving it to the last minute) and so I could spend the £5 Body Shop voucher that I got in Sunday’s Telegraph. I also have a dress (see above) which I need to exchange in New Look but they didn’t have it in a size 8 so I’ve kept hold of it. I don’t know whether I should just keep the size 6 and hope I don’t put on any weight from all the Chinese takeaways I have or just take it back and use the money on something else. I’ll have another look when I go into town tomorrow! We then went to Sainsburys where we bought a lot of food and then came back to mine and cooked steak and potato salad with toffee pavlova for dessert. It was delicious!
Here’s what I got from the Body Shop:
I absolutely love the smell of the lemon shower gel! It’s so sweet and summery. I’m going to keep it for the summer I think. I really want the body butter too but I already have two tubs of pink grapefruit to use up first! The watermelon body lotion smells good enough to eat and the scent lasts for ages! I put it on last night at around 1am and I could still smell it before I had a bath at 4pm today. It’s a bargain at £3.99 as well!
I chose the vanilla perfume because I wanted something which I could wear during the day and wasn’t so overpowering, I also love everything vanilla! Again, the scent lasts for ages. Definitely recommend it!
Big thank you to Cherry
for letting me know about the voucher in her blog.
Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last entry! I’ve now got 50 followers, only another 10 to go until I do my giveaway. I have a good one planned!
I’m starting to get the hang of this twitter thing now, so feel free to follow me on there as @xhjw
Here are some pictures from the Valentine’s Masquerade ball last night. I didn’t take any photos of my outfit so these are the best of the bunch where you can actually see it. I picked the dress up in H&M in London two years ago for a bargainous £5! I’d only ever worn it once before, it has a lovely low cut back but I struggled with bras.. I bought a stick on one but it just wouldn’t stick? So I opted for a black bra and just pretended it couldn’t be seen! The mask was about £3.60 off eBay. I had a great night but ended up with absolutely no sleep as I bought a drunken friend back with me who was sick. I have a phobia of sick so was lying awake worrying about him throwing up again when at 6am, my boyfriend got out of bed and decided to loudly puke too. I ended up missing a day of work because I was SHATTERED.
I missed Friday Featured this week because my Fridays are rubbish! I have a lecture from 9-11 and then another one at 3-5. I can’t go home during that 4 hour break because I know I won’t go back again (especially not for Greek World!) because I live at the top of a big hill and I’m lazy. Yesterday we ended up drinking in the SU and then going to ‘Spoons for some lunch. Being tipsy certainly made the afternoon’s lecture more entertaining. Enough rambling, here’s my Friday Featured for this week:
Long sleeved tshirt: Primark
Shorts: New Look
Another outfit post! Sorry about the photo quality, these were taken on my webcam, in my kitchen (which I spent 2.5 hours cleaning on Monday!) as I didn’t have anyone to take photos for me. I wore this to go to Southampton, where I did some mystery shopping, had lunch in Pizza Hut and attended the New Look Student Night. There was 25% off in New Look between 5 and 8, the first 100 people to make a purchase got a goody bag and there was a free bottle of Woodpecker cider for everyone. I bought two peter pan collar tunic dresses (one
– in black) which came to just over £20. Bargain!I was going to return the coral one but I tried it on when I got back and I love it. I also got a goody bag but I wasn’t too impressed.. there was a pair of men’s boxers, a small bottle of Lynx shower gel and two little packets of Haribo sweets. At least the boxers are my boyfriend’s size, even if he doesn’t like them! I can’t really complain about free stuff!
Today, I have 3 mystery shopping jobs to do in town which will take me about half an hour all together so I’ll go and do that after my lecture at 2. It’s easy money, I made £22 yesterday for about 4 mins work (it took me 20 mins to type it up afterwards) and I’ll be making about £34 today! All of that will be going towards my holiday to the Isle of Wight in April.
I’m sure I’ll be doing another outfit post very soon – I’m going to a Valentine’s masquerade ball tomorrow for my housemate’s birthday. I’ve never been to one before so I’m quite looking forward to it!
