we-hopethat-yourerecoveringI’ve been to our capital city hundreds of times and I have done a lot of touristy things, however there’s still so much that I want to do. It’s been a while since I’ve had a whole weekend in London, so I’d like to arrange a little break and head down there to cross a few things off my list. Of course, I will probably spend a few hours in the British Museum and head over to Covent Garden too.

Visit Madame Tussauds
I feel like I’m one of the only people to have visited London and not been to Madame Tussauds to get my photo taken with some wax celebrities. I’ve always thought it’s been too expensive when I’ve been down there but there are plenty of places to get discount attraction tickets from. Where else can you go and get your photo taken with the Queen, Vincent Van Gogh and One Direction all in one day?

Go up the Shard
Although I probably can’t afford a drink in the bar at the top of London’s tallest building, it would be nice to go up to the 72nd floor and have a look at the view over the city.

Visit the Warner Bros Studio Tour
You may be surprised to hear that as a massive Harry Potter fan, I actually haven’t visited the studio tour! I’m dying to go and I want to finally book tickets for this winter when it’s all Christmassy. It’s situated just outside of London, in Watford but it’s easy enough to get to from Euston and it’s on the train line that I get into London too.

Visit London Zoo
Surprisingly, I have never visited London Zoo either. The winter may not be the best time to go, however when it starts to get a little warmer next spring, I’m going to make sure I go! I’ve heard that it’s great for a day out and I love seeing animals, so it would be a perfect activity.

Have a look around the Wellcome Collection
I have actually been to this museum, however I turned up half an hour before it was due to close so I didn’t get a chance to have a proper look around. I would love to spend a few hours having a look at all of the different exhibitions, including the new one on mental health and asylums called Bedlam: the asylum and beyond.

What are your favourite things to do in London?

The monotony of a nine to five job is not for everyone, many people who work in an office often wish they could be doing something different, something a bit more exciting. I’ve often found myself getting bored of my job, whether I’ve been working in an office or working in a shop, I would love to be able to spend more time travelling and learning all about different cultures whilst still being able to make money and support myself.

There are many different ways that you can earn money whilst you are travelling, you may have heard about the kind of people that make a living whilst on the road – they may be known as ‘digital nomads‘. The idea of these people is that they work freelance and can work anywhere with a wifi connection, so they can travel anywhere they like – imagine being able to sit on a beach while you work! There’s a number of different professions that these digital nomads can be in, from blogging, to writing to graphic design – the possibilities are almost endless!

Another way you can travel and earn money is to become a teacher. Teaching English as a foreign language is a very popular job and a lot of university graduates go into the profession, often travelling to Asian countries such as Korea or Thailand to experience a new culture and also to teach the English language.

The idea of being able to work from anywhere in the world is very appealing and it is something that I would love to be able to do one day. You can never get bored whilst travelling, as long as you have a sense of adventure. A good book and good mobile app such as casino.com is in all over the world to make your trip memorable for when you are having a break from your work.
At the moment, I’m on holiday in Florida and I’m having a lot of time in the evenings to myself which is ideal for doing a bit of work.

Would you consider trying to earn whilst you travel? What profession would you go into?

Disneyland Paris

Photo from our trip to Disneyland Paris in October 2015

When this post goes live, I will be on my first long haul flight on my way to Orlando to spend two weeks at Walt Disney World. This isn’t my usual choice of holiday – I would usually prefer a few days break in a European city or by the English south coast, however it’s one of the places that I have always wanted to visit and to me it is a once in a lifetime trip. I can’t see myself ever going over to Orlando again, at least not until I’m a lot older/financially stable, so I’m going to make sure I make the most of it while I’m there.

As I’ve never been before, there’s so much that I don’t know about the parks. I’ve tried to do my research but I hated that I had to make decisions about dining reservations and fast passes in advance.  I know it makes it all so much easier once you are there, but what if I miss out on something that I’d really enjoy just because I didn’t know about it 180 days before the holiday? It took me so long to decide which fast passes I should go for and which parks I should go to on which days – luckily Kariss has been several times, so I just copied what she was doing parks wise, so I will have someone to spend the day with.

While there are a lot of things I want to do whilst I’m in Florida, there’s a few things that take priority:

Meet Winnie The Pooh – this has been my dream since I was tiny. I was so disappointed when I went to Disneyland Paris aged 11 and didn’t even see Winnie The Pooh. I finally saw him in DLP when I was 24 and I cried a bit. It’s my birthday tomorrow and we’re having breakfast at Crystal Palace, so I’ll finally get to meet Winnie The Pooh on my 27th birthday!

Dine at Be Our Guest – I’m going here for dinner on my birthday and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to try the grey stuff. We’ve also got lunch booked here towards the end of the trip.

Visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – I think I’m more excited about going here than anywhere in DisneyWorld! Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life since I read the first book aged 11 and I even have a Harry Potter tattoo. We’ve planned on spending two days at Universal, so I’m really excited to finally see Hogwarts and try some butterbeer.

Shop in Sephora – I’m dying to get my hands on a full sized bottle of the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black perfume and Sephora in the US is the only place you can do so. We’ve got a couple of days spare for shopping so I’m going to be spending a couple of hundred dollars in Sephora at least I think!

Visit the Main Street Bakery – I’ve heard that this smells amazing as they pump out the aroma of freshly baked cookies to lure you in. I’m going to buy a cake pop and get a Starbucks as big as my head.

Have you ever been to Disney World? Is there anything you recommend I do while I’m out there?
