Disneyland Paris

Photo from our trip to Disneyland Paris in October 2015

When this post goes live, I will be on my first long haul flight on my way to Orlando to spend two weeks at Walt Disney World. This isn’t my usual choice of holiday – I would usually prefer a few days break in a European city or by the English south coast, however it’s one of the places that I have always wanted to visit and to me it is a once in a lifetime trip. I can’t see myself ever going over to Orlando again, at least not until I’m a lot older/financially stable, so I’m going to make sure I make the most of it while I’m there.

As I’ve never been before, there’s so much that I don’t know about the parks. I’ve tried to do my research but I hated that I had to make decisions about dining reservations and fast passes in advance.  I know it makes it all so much easier once you are there, but what if I miss out on something that I’d really enjoy just because I didn’t know about it 180 days before the holiday? It took me so long to decide which fast passes I should go for and which parks I should go to on which days – luckily Kariss has been several times, so I just copied what she was doing parks wise, so I will have someone to spend the day with.

While there are a lot of things I want to do whilst I’m in Florida, there’s a few things that take priority:

Meet Winnie The Pooh – this has been my dream since I was tiny. I was so disappointed when I went to Disneyland Paris aged 11 and didn’t even see Winnie The Pooh. I finally saw him in DLP when I was 24 and I cried a bit. It’s my birthday tomorrow and we’re having breakfast at Crystal Palace, so I’ll finally get to meet Winnie The Pooh on my 27th birthday!

Dine at Be Our Guest – I’m going here for dinner on my birthday and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to try the grey stuff. We’ve also got lunch booked here towards the end of the trip.

Visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – I think I’m more excited about going here than anywhere in DisneyWorld! Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life since I read the first book aged 11 and I even have a Harry Potter tattoo. We’ve planned on spending two days at Universal, so I’m really excited to finally see Hogwarts and try some butterbeer.

Shop in Sephora – I’m dying to get my hands on a full sized bottle of the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black perfume and Sephora in the US is the only place you can do so. We’ve got a couple of days spare for shopping so I’m going to be spending a couple of hundred dollars in Sephora at least I think!

Visit the Main Street Bakery – I’ve heard that this smells amazing as they pump out the aroma of freshly baked cookies to lure you in. I’m going to buy a cake pop and get a Starbucks as big as my head.

Have you ever been to Disney World? Is there anything you recommend I do while I’m out there?

20172016 has been quite a good year for travel for me. In February I went to Germany for the first time, I stayed in Dusseldorf and visited Cologne before getting the train over to Rotterdam and then Amsterdam. I stayed in Amsterdam for five days which you can read about here. In July I went back to Cologne with Essence Cosmetics, so I got a proper chance to explore the city as when I went in February everything was shut and the weather was awful. In less than a month I will be going to Florida and this will be my first time going to the US, my first long haul flight and something I’ve wanted to do for a long long time. After this, I’m not going anywhere for the rest of the year but I have plenty of plans for 2017!

Barcelona
As you might have read, I won two return flights to Barcelona at an event with Monarch Airlines recently. I have until the end of next August to use the prize, so I’ve decided that I would like to go over at the end of May/beginning of June for Primavera festival. I need to save up for the festival ticket and the hotel but I’m hoping I can make it over there. I’ve never been to mainland Spain (only Majorca) and I’ve always wanted to go to Barcelona, so I’m really excited!

Prague
I really want to go to a new country that I haven’t been to before in 2017 – in 2015 I went to the Netherlands, in 2016 I went to Germany and will go to the US and I really want to go to Prague so that will tick a new country off my list. I know a couple of my friends really want to go too, so hopefully we can get ourselves a cheap deal and can have a weekend break.

Amsterdam
My absolute favourite city – I’ve been twice now and I really want to go back again next year. There’s not much that I haven’t done there, but I would just love to go back and experience it all over again. I love the cat cafe, I think it’s the best one I’ve ever been to so I will definitely be paying them a visit again.

Paris
My second favourite city – I’ve been every year for the past three years (twice in 2015) but won’t be going at all in 2016, so I really want to make sure I get back there next year. I really want to visit Musee d’Orsay again and finally get over to see the Palace of Versailles.

Depending on my job situation, I would also like to go on a last minute cruise – I love the idea of being able to visit a few different countries all on one holiday.
