I’ve never really bought cosmetics online, I prefer popping into Boots or Superdrug on my lunch break and having a nose and a swatch in there. It wasn’t until I was asked if I wanted to review some items from Fragrance Direct that I really had a good look at the website. Going by the name, I thought it was mostly going to be perfume – I was very wrong! I had a browse and finally settled on four things that I wanted to try.

Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parfum* – This is a perfume that I’ve loved for years. I first tried it when I got a sample in a Glossybox but I’ve never been able to afford it myself. However, it’s a complete bargain at £33.50 for the 100ml bottle on Fragrance Direct! It’s such a gorgeous scent with top notes of violet. I’ve had so many compliments on it since I got it, one customer even told me I smelt lovely and if you’ve ever worked in retail, you’ll know how rare it is to get a compliment from customers! I can put this on in the morning and it still smells just as great in the evening. The bottle also looks gorgeous amongst all of my other perfumes as well.

Real Techniques Starter Kit* – I’ve wanted this kit for aaaages. I got the core collection for my 23rd birthday and I also own a couple of the individual brushes but I’ve only recently got into eyeshadow (when I say recently, I mean in the last year or so) so I didn’t see the point of spending £22 on eyeshadow brushes. I’m so glad I chose this now, I’ve used at least one of the brushes everyday since they arrived and I can now understand why they’re so popular! I especially love the eyebrow brush and I’ve been choosing this over my MAC 266 brush (which cost about as much as the whole RT kit!) to fill my brows in on a daily basis.

OPI nail polish in ‘Just A Little Rosti At This’* – I haven’t tried many OPI polishes and when I saw how cheap they were on Fragrance Direct, I couldn’t believe it! At £3.99, they’re around the same price as your average drugstore nail polish so there’s no reason not to pick one up. This shade is a part of the Swiss Collection which was released a few years ago now and is a gorgeous deep cranberry colour which is perfect for this time of the year. I’ve only used it over acrylics so far but it’s really impressed me with its staying power.

Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquer in ‘Eclipse’* – I’m a big fan of the Rimmel Apocalips collection, I picked four up when they were first released last year. This is from the collection that was released just before Christmas and it’s a lovely deep red which applies like a highly pigmented lipgloss. I’ve used this a lot since I got it and it’s now one of my favourite lip products for the winter.
