This product is like a miracle in a pot for me. Whenever I have a bad breakout, which seems to happen once or twice a year, I try everything under the sun to calm it down before I think “Oh, Angels on Bare Skin really helped me last time. I should probably buy some!” and then I go out and buy a pot. Since leaving Winchester and moving home, I’ve had a pretty bad break out on my chin. I just ignored it for a couple of weeks and thought it would clear up by itself but it didn’t so I bought a Clean & Clear spot treatment which didn’t help. After looking like a pizza face for another six weeks, I finally gave in and purchased Angels on Bare Skin again.
I’ve now been using this for two weeks and it’s massively cleared my skin up! I used to wake up to 2-3 new spots everyday but the existing spots have been gradually disappearing and I haven’t had many new ones, besides the normal ‘time of the month’ ones that I’d usually expect.
In the pot, Angels on Bare Skin doesn’t look like your usual cleanser. You only need a pea-sized amount and a couple of drops of water and you then mix them into a paste on your hand before applying to your face. The ground almonds turn into an almond milk upon contact with water turning the cleanser into a cleansing milk. The other ingredients help to absorb grease, gently exfoliate and soothe the skin. This makes my skin feel so much softer and instantly refreshed.

I first saw this tag on Louise‘s blog and since then a lot of other people have been doing it too. I think it’s a really interesting tag so I decided to do it too. This isn’t the make up I wear everyday, I usually wear a lot less if I’m at work, but this is what I wore for a shopping trip to Birmingham. I usually wear a different blusher, it just so happened that I was wearing one of my cheaper ones today. Same goes for the lipstick, which is not the cheapest one I own but it’s not the most expensive either. I swap and change with my eyebrows too!
I was surprised with the total, it’s a lot less than most other bloggers but it’s more than I was expecting as I have used a lot of cheaper drugstore products today.
Have you done this tag? How much is your face worth?
Stila Tinted Moisturiser – Elegant Touch Vanilla Sparkle Nail Polish – Collection 2000 Skyscraper Mascara – Chit Chat Rio Nail Polish
I must admit, up until a couple of weeks ago I thought that Poundland was just full of rubbish makeup that I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole, let alone put on my skin! After reading A Thrifty Mrs’ blog and watching her youtube videos, I was inspired to have a look in my local and see what bargains I could pick up.
Stila Tinted Moisturiser – This had me going into Poundland everyday before work to see if they had the light shade in. It took me two weeks but I finally found it in the shade ’03 Light’ which is a bit too dark for me but I snatched up two bottles anyway. I haven’t used it yet but I’m looking forward to trying it out.
Elegant Touch Vanilla Sparkle Nail Polish – I picked this up because it looked cute and promised a vanilla scent. I think this would work better as a top coat as I used three coats and it still wasn’t opaque, however I love the glittery strands and it’s different to all the other glittery nail polishes I own.
Collection 2000 Skyscraper Mascara – I actually nearly bought this in Superdrug one day for £4.99 but decided to google it for reviews first. The next day I found it in Poundland! The brush is quite hard to get used to as it has both short and long bristles. It’s not the best mascara I’ve ever used but I like it. However, I bought it because I wanted a waterproof mascara. This was put to the test when I ended up crying on a train. I thought it would be alright and I’d just have red eyes – nope, I had red eyes and mascara all down my face. Embarrassing.
ChitChat Rio Nail Polish – This is a good dupe for OPI’s Rainbow Connection and Models Own Ibiza Mix although the colours are more like the OPI one. I’m really pleased I found this as I can use it as much as I want without feeling too guilty as it was only £1.
What do you think about shopping in Poundland? Have you found any bargains in there?
