If you’ve got a summer holiday coming up, you’re probably busy stocking up on all of the essentials. You’ll want to make sure you’ve got your favourite bikini, a beach towel, a good book to read by the pool. You will also want to make sure you have all of your beauty essentials. Luckily, Notino have a great range of products meaning you can get your holiday shopping done in one place.
If you’re going to a hot climate you won’t want to be wearing any heavy foundations, so the Estee Lauder BB Cream is a great alternative. It also offers a bit of sun protection with its added SPF 35 which is ideal if you’re in a rush.
The only other makeup items I think you need when you’re on holiday are a good bronzer and a lip gloss. I really love the Clarins Instant Light Perfector – it adds a hint of colour and shimmer to your lips whilst still being really moisturising. I have the Rose shade at the moment but I also have the Red Shimmer on its way to me and I can’t wait to try this new colour out.
If you’re like me and don’t tan, then a bronzer is a great way of adding a bit of colour into your face. Bourjois always do the best bronzers on the high street and the Bourjois Mat Illusion Bronzing Powder is no exception. I like to apply a bronzer to the places where the sun would usually hit my face and I find that it gives me such a healthy glow.
If you want to make sure your makeup stays in place all day, then you will need a good setting spray. I love the Revolution Pro Makeup Fixing spray. It’s such an affordable price but it really works. It helps to stop your makeup looking too powdery and keeps in on your face even in the sunshine.
It’s really important that you apply a sun cream before you go outside in the sun. Even if you think it’s not that sunny, you are still at risk of burning and skin cancer. As I’m ginger, I burn really easily so I always make sure that I have a proper sun cream and I reapply it regularly. I like the Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect sun cream as it protects you but also adds a bit of shimmer.
I like to apply a gradual tan to give my body a bit of a bronzed look as I don’t tan naturally. The St Tropez In Shower gradual tan is ideal as it doesn’t leave you looking streaky and is so easy to apply. I much prefer gradual tans as you can gradually build up the colour over a few days. It’s a good idea to start using this a couple of days before you go away.
