If you’re looking for the perfect autumn palette then I think I’ve found it from Notino. It’s also a bargain! A year ago, Soph from Sophdoesnails released an eyeshadow palette and highlighter palette with Revolution. I loved both items and use them all the time, so when I saw that she had a new palette out, I just had to try it. As well as the Extra Spice palette, she also released three lipstick shades.
Soph x Revolution Extra Spice
Soph x Revolution Extra Spice is the palette of my dreams. It’s in the same size packaging as the original one, however there are now 18 shades instead of 24. This one also features a lot of brighter, more autumnal colours. I was especially drawn to this because of the yellows and oranges.
Just like the first palette, the pigmentation on this is amazing. I’ve tried a lot of cheaper palettes which haven’t been great but you always get amazing quality with Revolution. The first makeup look that I tried out with this palette was a bright one. I’d been watching a few YouTube videos and I really liked the one that Emma from Emma’s Rectangle created. She used the shades Twenty One, Sweet N Sour and Vitamin C to create a ‘sunset eye’ which I thought looked beautiful.
First I placed Vitamin C in the crease, making sure it was blended out well. Then I added Sweet N Sour and made sure that was blended well with the yellow. I then added Twenty One which is a beautiful pinky red shade all over the lid. I used three different brushes for this look to make sure they colours didn’t get mixed up. I also added a bit of mulled wine on the lash line and underneath my bottom lashes along with Twenty One.
This is a bit of a dramatic look for the daytime, but I really love it. I can’t wait to try out the rest of the colours in the palette. I can’t believe how great the pigmentation is for the price! Of course I finished off the look with some winged liner and some mascara. I used my Dior lash primer which I spoke about last month to add a bit of volume to my lashes.
Another great thing about this palette is that it’s so travel friendly. The packaging is really sturdy and there’s a huge mirror on the inside so you can do your makeup on the go. As I travel a lot, I find that this is super helpful! I’ve used it when doing my makeup on the train and it’s so much better than the smaller mirrors on other palettes.
