It’s very rare that I leave the house without a spritz of perfume. I always like to smell nice, even if I’m not going anywhere special or I’m not wearing makeup. When it comes to perfume, I am a big Jo Malone fan. I first came across Jo Malone when I was having a browse in Selfridges and I fell in love with the Pomegranate Noir fragrance. Since then, I’ve managed to get quite the collection of Jo Malone colognes and my newest one is Peony and Blush Suede.
Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede
If you looked at the rest of my perfume collection, you would probably be surprised to see that I’ve gone for something so floral. I am usually into more woody, spicy scents a lot like Jo Malone Mimosa and Cardamom which I shared recently. Picking something which is predominantly floral, especially in the autumn is very out of character for me. However, there’s just something about Peony and Blush Suede which draws me in.
Top Note: Red apple
Middle Notes: Peony, carnation, red rose and jasmine
Base Note: Suede
Despite being heavily floral, the suede base note adds something deeper to the fragrance. I find that once it has dried down on my skin, you can really smell the suede and the rest of the notes are not as strong. Somehow, I find that it really works and I’ve been wearing it every day since I received it from Notino.
How it lasts
The rest of my Jo Malone fragrances last a very long time on me, especially if I spray them in my hair. Peony and Blush Suede is the same, however it isn’t as strong as the others. I can still smell it on my hair and my clothes the next day, but only faintly. It doesn’t last as long on my skin as others do as it is a very light and feminine fragrance. This definitely isn’t a negative though, as I can still get away with a couple of spritzes in the morning and then I don’t need to worry about it.
More from Jo Malone
As well as the amazing colognes which Jo Malone are famous for, they also do a range of body care products and home fragrances. I would love to have one of the candles, they smell amazing and the scent fills the room when they are burning. I might have to put a couple of them on my Christmas list as they make great gifts. I’ve tried a couple of the body creams when I have had a hand and arm massage in duty free at Birmingham Airport and I know that their scents last a long time, so they are also high on my wishlist. I particularly fancy the Orange Blossom Body Creme and the Grapefruit Scented Candle. The Grapefruit is such a lovely, fresh scent and it would be perfect for my bedroom.
