If you’ve been following my adventures on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been travelling a bit recently. I’ve been to six different countries over the past month! This means that the makeup I’ve had with me has been limited to a few items that are travel friendly, however I’ve come across some new favourites. All of these items are available online from Notino.
When I’m travelling around and in hot climates, I don’t want a heavy base. I decided that I need to get a BB cream that could offer a bit of coverage but would still be light. I chose to try the Estee Lauder DayWear BB Cream in Light. It has an SPF of 35 so it offers protection from the sun’s rays and it evens out my skin tone without being too heavy. I like the light coverage it offers and it’s also quite moisturising.
For any blemishes and for under my eyes, I did take a concealer with me. My favourite at the moment is the Revolution Conceal and Define concealer. It’s such a bargain and is better than any high end concealers I’ve tried. It brightens up my under eyes and also covers any blemishes I may have.
One product that I’ve recently discovered and fallen in love with is the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. There was a lot of hype surrounding these online when they were first released, but I didn’t try them as I’m not a lip gloss fan. However, I’ve recently picked up two of the shades and I’m in love. They feel super moisturising on the lips, they’re not a sticky gloss and they give a sheer wash of colour. I currently have 01 Rose Shimmer and 12 Red Shimmer. I’ve been wearing one of these everyday since I received them and that’s saying something as I’m usually a fan of matte lips! You may have seen me mention these in a previous post.
I’ve been using one mascara religiously for the past few months. I wasn’t a fan of it at first, but I’ve now got the hang of it and I absolutely love it. The Maybelline Miss Baby Roll mascara is brilliant at holding a curl and volumising the lashes. It’s the only mascara I’ve found that can keep my lashes curled all day and it’s less than a tenner! I’m currently on my second tube and will be repurchasing this when my current tube runs out.
I’ve been breaking out a lot recently, so I’ve been trying to make more of an effort with my skincare. It can be hard when the weather is so warm to do a full skincare routine, but one product I love that really works is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+]. This miracle product is meant to be applied on freshly cleansed skin before moisturiser and helps to fight blemishes and also works to minimise any old acne scarring. I like to apply this twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening and I find that it makes a real difference to my skin.
My favourite product for the warmer weather is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I first bought this when I was in Paris a few years ago and now I always make sure I have one in my handbag during the summer. This refreshing spray is brilliant to use as a little pick me up when you’re feeling a bit sweaty and can also be used as a setting spray over makeup. I love the minty scent which just reminds me of summer in Paris.
