I’ve recently had a bit of a sort out and I’ve thrown/given away a lot of beauty products that were just clogging up my drawers and weren’t getting any use. In doing this, I’ve realised that I’ve got way too much makeup that I don’t ever use, it’s kind of embarrassing how much really. I’ve decided to pick out a few pieces every couple of weeks (or ‘shop my stash’) and make sure I use them, just to make sure that everything is getting a bit of love.
I’m now putting myself on a bit of a ‘makeup spending ban’ as I really don’t need anymore products. I’m not going to be really strict, but I’m going to try my best to only buy things that are on offer, so I’m going to be scouring sites like Gratisfaction.co.uk to get discount codes and freebies.
Benefit Brow Zings* in 04 Medium, available here
I used Brow Zings every day for about three years straight until brows became a bit of a trend and 26738 different brow products came out. I ended up throwing away my original Brow Zings last year but when Benefit repackaged all of their brow stuff, I was drawn to it again. I’ve not really used this much and I’m not sure why as it’s a good colour, not too warm toned and is really easy to apply.
Clarins Instant Concealer in 01, available here
I bought this in Duty Free when I was flying to Germany for the first time last year. I used it every day for a few months until I then purchased my first Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. I love this concealer for under the eyes as it’s really brightening and so easy to blend but it’s not great on blemishes which is probably why I’ve been favouring the UD one.
Rimmel Brow This Way brow gel in Clear, available here
This is quite a new product but I’ve hardly used it since I bought it. It’s really good at setting my brows after I’ve filled them in, so it will be perfect to use over the Brow Zings.
Benefit Watts Up highlighter*, available here
I received this in a package from Benefit last year and it’s just been sat in my drawer ever since. I tend to prefer powder highlighters over cream ones as they are usually a lot more pigmented but I’ve found that this Benefit one is lovely if I just want a subtle glow. If I’m looking for a more glowy look, I can use this underneath a powder highlighter.
Lottie London All About That Base foundation stick in Light Beige, available here
This is another new product which I’ve used a couple of times but have since gone back to my usual liquid foundations. I’d heard a lot about Lottie London on YouTube, so I just had to try something from the range out for myself. I’ve never used a foundation stick before so these really drew me in. I ended up getting the shade Light Beige which is the third lightest but is a great match for my skin tone. I like to blend this in with a brush and then go over it with a dampened sponge to make sure there’s no brush strokes on my face.
