Beauty: Current skincare favourites

I’ve been paying a bit more attention to my skin recently as I’ve noticed that it’s been a bit of a state. It’s been looking very dull, dehydrated and I’ve ended up with quite a few blackheads which is something I haven’t experienced before. The overall texture of my skin hasn’t been great which has meant that even when I’m wearing makeup, it still doesn’t look good and I’ve been determined to sort it out. Luckily, I’ve found a few products that have really helped to get my skin back on track. I’m still not 100% happy with my skincare routine and have been doing a bit of research into different brands as I’m looking for a toner to add to it and am considering one from Dermalogica. I’m also looking for a new day cream to apply under my makeup.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask, available here
I first picked this up in Superdrug because it was only 99p and promised a weeks worth of hydrating serum. At that time, I hadn’t seen anyone talking about this mask online but since then everyone has been going mad for it. I’ve repurchased this many times since then and have used it around once a week. I love how hydrated it leaves my skin and it’s really made a difference when I use it regularly.

L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask, available here
These masks caused quite a stir when they were released last year and they’d been on my wishlist since I first heard about them. For some reason it took me so long to actually pick one up and try it out and this was mainly thanks to seeing Amyleigh’s review. I chose to go for the Pure Clay Detox mask which is meant to be similar to the Origins Clear Improvement mask which I love but have unfortunately ran out of. I found that after just one application, my skin felt a lot smoother and had more of a glow. I’ve been using this 2-3 times a week as the jar suggests you should and I’ve really noticed a difference.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+], available here
This is one of my all time favourite products, I’ve been using it for the past few years however it’s been sat in the back of my drawer for a couple of months and I’m not sure why. This really helps to keep my skin clear and also fades any marks from previous blemishes which has come in handy as my skin has been such a mess recently. Since I’ve put this back in my daily routine, my skin has been a lot better. I don’t know why I ever stopped using it!

Embryolisse Radiant Eye*, available here
This tiny product is meant for your undereyes in the morning to reduce puffiness and to hide any signs of fatigue. I’ve been using this every morning for the past couple of months and it’s really helped my makeup to go on a lot smoother and I love the cooling effect it has.
