As you probably already know, I’ve just started university for the second time – this time around, I’m doing a masters degree. That means that I’ll be having a lot of late nights (studying and socialising) and early mornings (if I can drag myself out of bed for my lectures), so I need to find a makeup routine that fits in with this and is simple and easy so I don’t have to get out of bed any earlier to sort myself out and make myself look presentable.

The most important thing when doing your makeup is your base. If I’m going to be spending the whole day at uni at lectures and in the library before going out in the evening, I want something that’s going to last the whole time. Estee Lauder Double Wear Light is the lighter version of the cult favourite foundation and it promises to last all day but doesn’t give as high a coverage. This would be perfect for me as I hate the feel of foundation on my skin after it’s been on for a few hours.

I’d also need a decent concealer to hide any dark circles under my eyes and to also conceal blemishes. I’ve used the Clarins Instant Concealer before and it does a great job at making me look more awake and perking my face up a bit. As it’s a liquid, it’s really easy to apply and blend helping to give a flawless look.

A nice blusher will give my face a bit of a glow and add a bit of colour to it, which again will hide the signs of tiredness. I love the look of this Givenchy Le Prisme blusher with four different colours. I could either use each one individually or swirl my blush around all four to make a lovely pink shade.

When it comes to the eyes, the best way to make you look more awake is with long voluminous lashes. I’ve found that the Dior Diorshow Maximiser lash primer is amazing – although it adds an extra step onto your makeup routine, it really helps to make your lashes look longer and fuller. I now can’t apply my mascara without it! With the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara on top, my lashes would definitely help to perk up my face and make me look awake.

Finally, I can’t leave the house without a lipstick on and the Clinique Chubby Sticks are ideal when you’re on the go or in a rush. They’re so easy to apply and offer a great range of colours from orange to purple. These are great to just thrown in your bag for touch ups on the go as well.

What makeup do you wear to make yourself look more awake?

My make-up is a splash of water on my face – shocker, I know! But I don’t wear make-up and I doubt I would have the time to apply any if I did! These look like nice products though.

These are great picks, I’ve heard a lot about Estée Lauder Double Wear. Lots of concealer and a bit of blusher for me and of course my lippy.

Love your choices, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light looks brilliant and I’m not a big fan of foundation as I find it too heavy so will give this a go, thanks.

I don’t really wear make up every day, only if I’m going somewhere special. I love anything from Clinique though.

Loving the look of the berry chubby stick – perfect for autumn term! And didn’t know there was a DoubleWear Light. Enjoy the new school year.

    Thanks for sharing!

The Dior eyelash primer sounds amazing, definitely something I want to try for myself! I didn’t realise there was a double wear light, it sounds perfect for daytime. I have got super lazy recently have been going to work with no make up at all or just BB cream and mascara. My skin is SO much better for it.

I’m hoping to get some new stuff for myself and glad to have come across your post. A great inspiration for someone like me who doesn’t know much about beauty and makeup.
