You may have seen my post all about Halloween looks a couple of weeks ago. Although I do like all of the looks that I posted, I don’t feel confident enough to recreate most of them. I decided to try out a simple Halloween look that is a little bit out of the ordinary to my usual makeup. Something that I could just add some accessories to and call a Halloween look. When I received this month’s goodies from Notino, I just fell in love with the Petra x Makeup Revolution palette, so I had to use that in this look.
Simple Halloween makeup
I decided to go for a purple eye look. Although I do have quite a few purple eyeshadows, I never ever choose to use purple. Generally, I much prefer warm tones like oranges, reds and yellows. I thought that I could use the pinks and purples in this palette to create a witchy purple eye.
I did my base as I usually would with the Bourjois CC cream, a concealer and a translucent setting powder. However, I decided to skip the bronzer as witches typically have pale skin so I just added a blusher and some pinky highlighter. I didn’t want to go too overboard with the rest of my face as I wanted the main focus to be on my eyes and lips.
I used the pink and purple shades from the Petra x Makeup Revolution palette. The pinks were blended in the crease and the dark purple went all over the lid. Next, I blended both colours underneath the eye. I added some winged liner with the Maybelline Hyper Precise eyeliner pen. This was my first time trying this and I was really impressed with how easily it applied. I curled my eyelashes and added the L’Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess mascara to finish the eyes off. For my lips I used a Rimmel Stay Matte liquid lipstick in a dark navy colour. I’ve never actually used this before, it’s just been sat in my drawer since I bought it. However, it’s now the perfect time of year to bring out the dark lips.
For a party, I would add some finishing touches to this Halloween look. A black witch’s hat is an essential of course! I would also draw a cobweb coming off my eye with eyeliner and maybe a little spider. If you fancy going all out, then you could even try out some lenses. I was sent the Black Out contact lenses from Alensa. Unfortunately, I’m so cack handed that I couldn’t actually get them in my eyes but I think they really would have made the look. I always love the way that coloured contacts look and would love to get some more in different colours.. if only I could get them in!
