The weather is amazing at the moment and I’m sure lots of people are planning their weekends. Many people will be choosing to go away this weekend. Who needs to go abroad when it’s hitting 30 degrees in the UK? If you’re going on a little road trip, there are a few things you need to consider before you set off.
Where are you going? How far away is it and how long will it take you to get there? You’ll want to plan out your journey and make sure you take the quickest but most efficient route possible. There’s nothing worse than being stuck in a hot car on a motorway in a traffic jam!
Once you get to your destination, there will be some things you need to consider. Where are you going to park? Will you need to pay for the privilege? Is it going to be a safe area? A lot of tourist places charge a fortune for parking so bear that in mind before you go.
Your car is the most important part of your road trip. You’re going to be sat in it for a long time getting to your destination, so you need to make sure it is comfortable. You also have to, by law, make sure that it is road safe. If you are due an MOT soon, it is best that you book yourself in for one before you go away. It’s better to be safe than sorry. You also need to make sure your vehicle is registered and to do that you can just contact the DVLA. They can be hard to get hold of, so you can check out DVLA contact numbers if you need any information.
Snacks and entertainment
Don’t forget the snacks for your road trip! Whenever I go anywhere, I like to have a bag of sweets with me for the journey. It’s also important to carry bottles of water with you in this hot weather. I also like to create a playlist for the journey which you can sing along to and get excited about!
