I’m sure I’m not the only one making plans for a house they don’t even own yet (and probably won’t own for a loooong time). I will often spend hours browsing Pinterest and pinning all of the photos of my dream home. The one room that I am most excited to make my own when I do buy a house is the kitchen. I have big plans for my future kitchen and I am hoping that one day I will be able to make my dreams come true.

My dream kitchen will be light and airy. I will want a big space as cooking and baking are two things that I really enjoy doing. I don’t do a lot of baking at the moment as I live with my parents and our kitchen is quite small. I like to have a lot of space to make my mess in.. plenty of counter space to prepare ingredients. One of my favourite things to make is shortbread and you need quite a bit of space to roll out your dough before you cut it into shapes. Ideally, I would love to have a kitchen that is big enough to have an island in the middle. I would use this space to do my baking  but it would also be great to have some tall stools around it so that it could be a place for the family to eat at.

As with every other aspect of home renovation, buying a kitchen can be so expensive. You need to get all of the cupboards, the sink and the white goods – it all really does add up. A great alternative to buying everything from new is by using Used Kitchen Exchange which is a great website where you can purchase pre-owned kitchens. Just have a browse and see if there is something that takes your fancy on there. You never know, you may find your dream kitchen on there. You can even sell your old, unwanted kitchen whilst you are there!

As well as having an island, my dream kitchen would contain a pop of yellow and a lot of indoor plants. I think that plants can really add a lot to any kitchen and they’re good for you as well! I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to kitchens which you can see below..
