As you probably know, I went back to university in September and since then I’ve been living on a tight budget. I moved back to Winchester, one of the most expensive cities in the UK. I’ve had to find ways to make extra money around my Masters degree. I’ve tried a few different things which I have spoken about before and here’s an update on what’s worked.
Using cashback sites
If I have to spend money and I’m going to do it online, then I’ll always go through Quidco. Quidco is a cashback site which works closely with hundreds of different retailers. Over the years I’ve made over £400 just from buying things I’d be buying anyway. Even when I’m making small purchases like a takeaway pizza, I’ll go through Quidco first. All of those pennies here and there soon add up!
Selling unwanted items
I don’t know about you, but I seem to have a bit of a spending problem. I’m constantly buying new things when I don’t need them and don’t have the room for them. I like to clear out my wardrobe every couple of months and get rid of any items that I haven’t worn for a long time. I tend to put any unwanted items either on eBay or Depop or I’ll take them to my local Cash For Clothes place if I think they won’t sell. I often won’t get a lot for each item, but it’s better than nothing. It’s also better than having them clogging up my wardrobe.
Online casinos are a fun way to earn a bit of money. Obviously, gambling can be risky so you have to make sure you gamble responsibly. Playing games online and winning money from them can be a lot of fun. You can also do it in your own time, whenever you want. If you have a couple of spare hours in the evening then you could check out https://www.onlinecasinos.co.uk/ and see if there’s anything on there that you want to have a go at.
Any extra money that I make outside of my blog, I always save up in a separate account for something special. At the moment, I’m saving up for a new camera and I also have a couple of trips away booked. Have you found any great ways to make extra money?
