Outfit: The mustard yellow playsuit

Following on from the last outfit post, I thought I’d share another one of my Boohoo sale bargains which was this mustard yellow playsuit. Again, this cost me a mere £6 and I went for something with long sleeves to avoid the dreaded sunburn. I wore this on our third day when I’d already badly burnt my back and luckily it covered up the affected areas without irritating it any further.

When I first tried the playsuit on, I absolutely loved the top half but the bottom half was very unflattering – it gave me an awful camel toe – so instead of returning it, I decided to keep it and simply wear a denim skirt over the top. This proved to be a great idea as once the skirt was on, it just looked like a bodysuit or a top which I’d tucked in. It was a bit of a pain when it came to going to the toilet, but what playsuit isn’t?

Denim skirt – New Look

Sunglasses* – Carrera
Shoes – Vans (available here)

As I knew that we were going to be doing a hell of a lot of walking that day, I opted for my trusty Vans which go everywhere with me. I’m starting to think it might be time to invest in a pair in a different colour as I wear my black ones so much more than the three patterned pairs that I have and they’re the type of shoe that will go with any outfit. We ended up doing over 20,000 steps and my feet definitely thanked me for making the right choice in footwear!

Like the last playsuit I featured, this mustard one is also a wrap style which means it was very open at the front. I didn’t mind at all, but when we went into Sagrada Familia, I thought it would be best to pin it together to make it less booby, just in case we weren’t let in. From experience, I know a lot of religious buildings have a dress code (I may have been kicked out of Cologne Cathedral last year for wearing a vest top) and we weren’t allowed into one part of the Sagrada Familia because we didn’t have our knees covered. Anyway, I managed to get away with it and as you can see from the photos, we also visited Park Guell on the same day. Thank god for our 48 hour bus tickets! We managed to save our feet a bit and see some sights, I wish that was possible when getting my weekly bus pass at home.

I absolutely love the colour of this playsuit (it’s the whole reason I bought it, if I’m honest) and I know it would be fantastic in the autumn too, I’m thinking about trying it out with a pair of mom jeans when it gets a bit cooler, that would definitely work! I’m all for finding ways to wear certain items of clothing in all seasons.

Love this colour – mustard always drains me though as I’m so fair.

I love the fact that you’re so honest about it being unflattering on your lower half and that you were still able to wear it but style it with other items of clothing!

I love the colour. It is bright and stands out. I think if i wore it I would wear it with jeans as I don’t look good in short skirts. I agree it would be great in autumn too! I enjoyed this post and your honesty. Very refreshing!

You really suit the mustard colour, I’m not so sure I would. I agree that vans are a must especially when walking loads as I find them super comfortable.
