Back in April, I wrote a post about my plans for this summer and said I wanted to get to a couple of festivals (this is also on my 30 before 30 list), well I’ve managed to sort out tickets to Y Not festival in Derbyshire next weekend and V Festival in August. I’m so excited to camp at a festival for the first time and have been frantically trying to get myself prepared for it by buying all of the camping gear I can and planning out my outfits.
So far, I’ve got myself a tent from Millets (just a pop up one because there’s no way I can put up any other kind!), a mat to sleep on and some inflatable pillows. I’m hoping that my sleeping bag will be comfortable and will keep me warm enough but I’ll probably end up buying another one before I go to V Festival. Festivals can be quite expensive, even once you’ve bought the tickets you have to make sure you have all of the gear but luckily if you buy decent stuff, you won’t have to pay for it again. It’s worth looking into ways to fund your summer holiday or festival as it can be a lot of money to spend all at once.
I’ve been trying to put together some outfit ideas but I have no idea what the weather is going to be like, you can never trust the UK weather! Here’s a list of festival essentials that I’m going to make sure I have with me:
- Festival ticket – the most important thing!
- Roll mat
- Sleeping bag
- Inflatable pillow
- Some kind of light (either to hang up inside your tent, a head torch, a torch or all three!)
- Sun cream
- A warm hoodie or jumper
- A waterproof jacket (I’ve got my Berghaus jacket ready to go)
- Wellies or comfortable boots in case of any mud
- Bottled water
- Toilet roll
- Baby wipes
- Dry shampoo
- Face wipes
- Bags for your rubbish and wet/dirty clothes
I’ve got the most important thing sorted and have some cosmetic glitter on its way for me so I can turn my face into a disco ball! I’ve been keeping an eye on Pinterest and getting outfit and makeup inspiration from there.
