Everywhere you look, bloggers are either getting engaged, married or pregnant – I think there’s something in the water! If you have a look on twitter, it does seem like it’s happening to every other blogger and that’s probably because a lot of the bloggers that I follow are around the same age as me and that’s what people my age are doing now. One of my favourite bloggers, Paige recently got engaged as did Sophie and I’m so excited for their weddings! I’m guessing they’ll be documenting them on their blogs and YouTube and I can’t wait to see all the details when the time comes.
If you’re seeing all of these engagements and feeling a bit left out, or if you’re sick of being the bridesmaid and never the bride, then you’re not alone. I’m constantly being asked when I’m going to get married and have children (I don’t even have a boyfriend, so I don’t know where people are getting their ideas from!) and it’s starting to get a bit tiresome. If you have a partner then don’t worry, you’re a lot closer to getting engaged or married than I am as I don’t think my cat or my four gerbils are about to propose. Angelic Diamonds, retailers of bespoke yellow gold engagement rings have got some tips to help you steer your partner in the right direction.
One of the best tips is to be honest with your partner. Honesty is always the best policy. If you’ve never talked about getting engaged or married, then how can you expect your partner to know what you want? You have to make sure it’s something that the both of you want as a marriage won’t work unless you both put your all into it. Try having a discussion and see if you’re both ready to make that big commitment, you might be surprised at the outcome and you never know, that Pinterest board you’ve made full of cute wedding ideas could be coming in handy a lot sooner than you think!
