There’s nothing more annoying than your favourite pair of jeans dying on you. It seems that most jeans from the high street do have an ‘expiry date’ and you don’t get to keep them looking great forever. Whether they end up going baggy at the knees/around the bum or the colour fades from a true black do a dirty grey or they simply wear out at the thighs (we’ve all been there!) it can be so upsetting when you finally have to let go of your beloved jeans. If you want to learn how to keep your jeans looking better for longer, then Trilogy Stores, stockists of designer skinny jeans, have provided me with some handy tips.
- Try to wash your jeans as little as possible – they don’t need to be put in the washing machine after every wash, simply give them a wipe down if you spill something on them. Of course, if they’re really dirty or smelly then they should go in the washing machine but try to avoid it as much as you can to keep the shape and condition of your jeans at their best.
- Turn your jeans inside out when you do put them in the washing machine – by doing this you will help to retain the colour and avoids damage to the zips and buttons.
- When storing jeans, fold rather than hang – clip hangers can leave permanent indentations in your jeans so it’s much better to fold them and store them on a shelf in your wardrobe.
- Try to wear them as much as possible before the first wash – this helps them to conform to the shape of your body and means that they’ll stay looking good for longer.
