Festival season is well underway and I’m sure you’ve seen posts all over social media. I’ve already been to one festival this year (All Points East) but I’m hoping to go to a couple more. There are so many different festivals in the UK, but we don’t have to stick to them. There are loads of exciting festivals over Europe as well! Here are the festivals I would like to go to on the continent this year..
Benicassim is just outside of Barcelona in Spain. It’s a four day festival right next to the beach, which means you get a holiday out of it too. If you’re not keen on camping, you could always have a look into apartments or hotels in Barcelona. It’s not too far away and you could commute to the festival. This year I would love to see Bastille, Nothing But Thieves, The Killers and Juanita Stein. There’s such an amazing line up!
In August, Hungary’s capital city of Budapest is host to Sziget festival. This year the line up includes Lana Del Rey, Gorillaz, Bastille and The Kooks. This particular festival is on for seven days. You could go and see your favourite acts and then explore the beautiful city for a few days afterwards. You don’t have to go for the full seven days, there are also five day or three day tickets available. Have a look at some Destination2: Holidays while you are planning!
If you fancy just going to a day festival, then TW Classic in Belgium could be the one for you. With my favourite band, The National playing along with Editors and Richard Ashcroft, it’s bound to be a fantastic day. I love day festivals as you don’t have to worry about camping out in a tent but you still get the festival experience.
Berlin plays host to Lollapalooza festival in September. The festival first started out in America, but now Berlin has their own version in the Olympic Stadium. There’s so many big names playing this year including The Weeknd, Liam Gallagher, The National and Wolf Alice.
