We’re well into January 2018 now and I’m sure everyone has probably given up on their new resolutions by now. I didn’t really make any, I just want to make the most out of this year and try to be as happy with myself as I can be. I don’t have the time (or motivation) to join a gym and I don’t really need to go on a diet, which is why I’ve been looking at replacing some of my beauty products to get a bit of a fresh start. Luckily, if I shop at Notino, I can get everything in one place.
The first thing that needs a bit of an overhaul is my brush collection. I have makeup brushes from Real Techniques and EcoTools but they are quite old now (the RT ones I’ve had for around 5 years!) and even though they’ve served me well, they’ve certainly had better days. I have been looking at investing in a new set and I like the look of this one from BHCosmetics Rose Gold brush set, I’ve heard some really good things about them as a brand and this rose gold set looks like it will have everything that I need, plus there’s a handy case to keep them all in which is a bonus.
I have almost ran out of my favourite Jo Malone perfume which has unfortunately been discontinued, so I’m always on the hunt for a new vanilla based fragrance. I know that I love the Warm Vanilla Sugar scent from Bath and Body Works as I already have the hand sanitiser and large three-wick candle, so I’m sure I’ll get on well with the perfume too. The Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar eau de toilette is a lot sweeter than the Jo Malone one (which is Vanilla and Anise) but until I can find a good dupe for it, it will be a good replacement.
Now I’m heading towards thirty (I’m thirty NEXT YEAR!!) I’m starting to worry more about my skin and I want to do all I can to avoid lines and wrinkles. I started to notice some small lines developing beneath my eyes when I turned 27, so I really need to sort out a good eye cream to make sure I keep them at bay. This Clarins eye contour balm looks like it will be just what I’m looking for and I’ve always had a good experience with any Clarins products that I’ve used before.
A good body moisturiser is also an essential, especially when the weather is causing my skin to dry out. I like the look of this Nuxe body melting firming cream. I’m a big fan of Nuxe products, especially their Reve de Miel lip balm, so would love to try this firming cream. It’s always nice to treat yourself to a bit of a luxury body product.
Finally, the one makeup product I’d like to invest in at the start of this year is a nice lipstick. The Dior Addict Moisturising lipstick will be great for the time of year as the cold and wind really dries my lips out, so matte lipsticks are best avoided. I haven’t tried any lip products from Dior before but I do love the concealer that I have from them.
What beauty products are you trying out for the new year?
