Over the past couple of years I’ve been really lucky and have been on a lot of holidays and trips abroad. This year however, I’ve got to concentrate on finishing my Masters and getting my dissertation done, so I can’t really plan any trips until I’m finished with university but once I’m done, I have a long list of places I want to visit this year.
At the top of my list is Egypt – I’ve always wanted to go to the Cairo museum and see the Pyramids of Giza but I don’t really want to stay there. This year, I would love to go on holiday somewhere else (perhaps Cyprus) and go over to Egypt on a day trip. I’m such an Ancient Egypt nerd so this would be my dream.
I’ve already been to Amsterdam twice, but it’s one of my favourite European cities and I always feel so comfortable there. I would love to visit again for a weekend this year and spend some time exploring the neighbourhoods that I haven’t been to yet. One of my friends lives out there at the moment as well, so it would be a good chance to catch up with him.
My parents have recently got back from a trip to Dubai for my mom’s 50th birthday. It’s not somewhere I would have considered before but they absolutely loved it and from what they’ve told me, I really want to go. They stayed in a resort with peacocks walking around, next to the beach, with several pools and it was 30 degrees in November. This sounds like the kind of holiday I’d need once I hand my dissertation in in September! Destination 2 have loads of great deals on for Dubai at the moment.
Seeing as I now have two friends living over there, Australia is now on my bucket list. I’ve never wanted to go before but Heidi moved over there early last year and then Izzy, one of my friends from uni moved over there in October. It’s such a big country that I’d need at least three weeks to see all of the places I wanted to visit and even then, I think it wouldn’t be long enough!
